First question is if I am not overclocking my system could i use DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) even tho on the mother board stats next to DDR3 2400 it has (O.C.)?

Second if I am not going to overclock my system would it be better to get the sabertooth over the rampage?

Thanks
Forgive my naivety i am a new builder :D

As far as the ram goes yes, anything over 1600 is an overclock and has to be set in the bios

Sabertooth is a very good board. Decent feature selection. Mine's been a rock so far.

There's no point in spending for premium high speed ram if you're not going to OC the CPU at all.

Sabertooth right now is my probable buy but i have recently been looking at the ASUS P9X79 and getting G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL8Q-16GBZM

I have noticed that on the 1866 RAM there is the PC3 14900 or 15000... What is the difference? And will those memories be ok to use or should i just go with DDR3 1600?

The Sabertooth board is a good choice. The longer warranty is on that board for a reason, IMHO. I've asked ASUS for a Z77 Sabertooth, but I do have some other boards here to go through before I can review the Sabertooth.

As to the whole memroy thing, running up to 1866 MHz(PC3-14900) should be fairly easy for any Intel CPU, but going higher can be difficult and depends a fair bit on BIOS support for the sticks.

PC3-15000 is old ram, do not buy it. PC3-14900 is new stuff for SKT1155. I suggest you buy G.Skill. ;) 1866 MHz seem to be the "sweet-spot" for SKT1155, but 1600 is just fine too. Either should be easy to run, by simply enabling "XMP" in BIOS. Even 2400 MHz stuff, should work very easily, by just enabling "XMP", and ASUS boards, right now, are quite ready for 2400 MHz rams.
