So, I was arguing with my sister and I got angry. I tried to hit my desk but ended up hitting my computer really hard instead. It immediately turns black and I move the mouse which turns it on.
Everything is fine so I log into my computer and it takes me to this thing where it says I'm not connected to all the services (Microsoft services and blah blah) and I just kinda do that and end up with a perfectly fine computer.
I re-opened everything and it's been working fine, idk how long ago it's been.
I don't have money to buy another computer and I'm working on school from home so I really am paranoid that it's broken.

well windows 10 made me throw my tablet across the bathroom once lol... it's one of those rugged amazon panasonic toughpad knockoffs... so it was fine but had a streak on the display so I just knocked it a lil with my knuckle and it fixed itself.

I have been so much better since I switched to Linux for all my computers and I got a Samsung galaxy tab active 2 tablet that's my new bath buddy and it's been great lol.

Don't have much money to be switching my computers at any time lol or I would. I just would like to know if my descriptions shows any signs of possible damage permanently or would show later.

Your lucky the screen didn't break if you hit your laptop.
The only damage I can think of could possibly be to your hard drive if it's not an SSD type.

Not a good idea except in the US, you punch straight through those cardboard houses over there. Try it in most of Europe though... You only do that once and never again :D

But yeah... sudden blackout and all fine after reboot sounds like your storage devices went into immediate shutdown to prevent data loss. Most storage locks up like that when under sudden stress, especially mechanical as platters contain the data.
Damage could be done but its almost impossible to tell.

You could read out SMART data on your storage.

just try to recall how hard it was
i agree there's a risk on your hdd or screen since both are fragile enough

maybe you have the lesson if you have to smack the table, please move any electronic devices from there so you have enough room to smack without too much worry then

Forehead on keyboard can be pretty satisfying too. The marks do go away after some time.

Even more satisfying is having the ability not to rage and hit things when you're upset. Go talk it out with a Dr, OP. Anger issues don't get better with time.

I don't have anger issues lol people just get angry from time to time lol I apologized after a minute and so did she lol

Yes because it turned off and restarted there could be damage in the future

Mechanical Hard Drive can usually be felt or heard spinning up as you start the Laptop, an SSD can't as it contains no moving parts.

Just types of storage drives. HDD's are those larger spinning hard drives. You might remember older desktops making those random little clicks, squeaks, chirps, so on. They are reliable, but don't take too well to impact. Some laptops still used smaller 2.5" versions for cost and maybe temps. SSD's are the transistor-based equivalent - much faster, smaller, and with no moving parts. I'd assume your laptop has the latter. Most laptops now have these and they tend to be essentially shock-proof (as much as chips on a PCB can be.) The failures are electrical, or simply so many writes that the memory on em just isn't any good anymore.

Honestly, the fact that it's working right now makes me think it's probably okay. If anything got cracked or loose, you'd be having problems already. Nothing saying another jostle might not be the last straw that cracks a PCB or knocks out a solder joint. Just be careful with it from hereon. Most things in a laptop are soldered on or very tightly socketed. Hard to say what got knocked that caused it to do what it did. That it's fine now gives a decent prognosis, though.

If you want to do a SMART test, just to make sure your drive is okay, there are ways to do it in your OS, but it's probably easier to just grab CrystalDiskInfo to check it out. Not perfect with every drive, but it will show values that all drives keep track of about age, wear, and usage. There are a few things to look for that might suggest damage. Again, highly doubt it (and even if you DO have an HDD and not an SSD, it can take time before signs of damage show up,) but if you wanna grab that and screenshot what it shows you, we may be able to give you some peace of mind at least. Maybe even get some insight into what happened.

Not a good idea except in the US, you punch straight through those cardboard houses over there. Try it in most of Europe though... You only do that once and never again :D
Haha, unless you're in Florida, where most of the houses are concrete with drywall hung up on thin furring strips. Been there, done that. The only thing it taught me as a teen was to punch the door on my little tv-dresser-cabinet. Turns out fists go easily through them. That's the main thing. If you're going to punch something, make sure it is much weaker than your fist... and that it's something you can stand to break... and that whatever you punch won't press charges on you, I guess

See, I think hitting your laptop didn't crash your Windows 10 system. I think it happened because of the incompatible drivers .
My suggestion would be to boot the system in safe mode and reinstall the display driver to avoid flickering . As flashing happens mainly because of the display driver incompatibility.

I'll repeat, this is a forum of technical discussions.
Stop the off topic posts of non-technical quips.
