I just had my HX1000 die in BF3

I haz sadnez nau....
Never thought i would have a dead corsair PSU, it had around 2.5 years or use.
Now i have to get a new one, but i guess ill buy an antec HCP since Corsair died.

What happens is it shutdowns in load, BF3, Furmark etc

don't buy another one, you have a 5 year warranty on that --> http://www.corsair.com/support/warranty/

It's a fluke most likely. Every now and then something dies without real cause or fault. I would take an RMA. My HX1000 has been really solid so far, no problems.

If you do decide to go with another brand, take a look at enermax, seasonic, or silverstone.

When my HX 850 died I bought a better PSU. It was the right move. Took well over a month to get my replacement. That's way too much downtime. With newegg's shipping I was only down for a day.

It seems like a long turn around is the norm. Every Corsair PSU I see for sale seems to be an RMA replacement someone is selling because they bought a new one while they waited.

I would definitely try to get the PSU RMA'd even if you buy another PSU, the HX1000 is EOL, so you would be getting an HX1050 back in all likely hood.
