Hi guys i have been trying to get answers everywhere and im desperate for them. Im building my own pc and i purchased a case from an official store in my country. My worst mistake is that i never looked about it other than the site description which is limited and realised that the case literarily doesnt exist on the internet. Now i want to buy https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B450M-PRO-M2-MAX/Specification and the case is https://www.emmi.rs/kuciste-falcon-zeus-window-rgb-fcr15zbw.html . It came with 4 rgb fans that have(listen to me well) 1 3pin female connector and 2 wires coming of it and going into 1st and 2nd pin of molex(all of this is for 1 fan...there are 4). I know that the molex is for power but with 100% spin and i know that the 3 pin is for power too and it can regulate speed when i enable DC mode in my mb's BIOS. So can u tell me if i should use both molex and 3 pin or just one. And can 1 4pin fan hub support 4 fans and then go into System fan slot on MB (i mean can it provide enough Ampers) and will it be able to regulate speed with DC mode enabled(if u dont believe me on that DC mode u can check manual page 14 for MB). Please if u dont understand me i can explain better...or send pictures.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Buky. Your fans will likely have an amperage rating on the sticker somewhere. Most MB 4pin fan headers can handle 2amps. ( will be listed in your mono user manual)
I personally have 4 fans running out of one sys fan header (via a hub) and 2 fans running off the cpu fan header.

Molex connectors are redundant and provided for backwards compatibility / versatility.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for answering...as i said my case is rlly under the rock thing and it doesnt say which fans are in (i checked). So u are saying to me that the only thing to power the fan and the RGB is 1 3pin connector ?

use either molex or 3 pin, you can buy a 4x3/4pin to 1x3 pin to connect all four fans to one motherboard fan header.

I would rather use the 3 pin with the hub way bcs there is a chance i can regulate speed. And the 3 pin powers the RGB LEDS too?

yes it will power the fans and RGB lighting and you will be able to set the fan speeds this way though all 4 fans will run at the same single setting as it's going through the hub and will be recognised as one fan.

Okay tnx. If they run the same speed its no problem since im happy that i can just control them. How to close this thread?

If you connect all fans to a hub, plug the hub in to the AIO fan header on the motherboard as it allows a higher Amperage draw.

Hey Bulky many people may find either because they have many fans, or because their motherboard does not have enough 3/4 pin connectors, that the molex is a way to still power up the extra fans.

Yeah but molex spins at 100% speed.

It seems your Motherboard only has a CPU fan header and a SYS fan header.
In that situation buy a fan hub that requires SATA or USB power.
Something like this will allow all the fans including CPU fan to be connected and controlled.

Perhaps what you need is the following;
One Molex to 8 3-pin fan hub with a low power(likely 7 volts) setting. This will give you all the fan connections you need and a way to run the fans at a lower speed to reduce noise.

There is also one of these;
This adaptor can be connected to a PWM fan header and all the fans connected to it will be speed adjusted in unison.

If you go to Ebay or Amazon and type in " fan hub " as a search you'll find lots of options, just have to go looking for them.

Ok so i can just buy this and it will power the rgb and the fans and i can just switch the thing to low if its not overheating.
Thanks dude

If you combine the 5 voltage with 12 voltage (red+yellow) you get 7 voltage. Some psu’s might not like that though. Never had any trouble modding the molex connector back during the Athlon XP-Athlon 64 X2 era.

Modify the molex connector off the fan not the power supply’s molex connector.

Id i got this right there is no need to even touch the molex connecters of the fan because i have 3 pin for the power of the the fan and the rgb?

And will something like this work since there are no regular 8x 3pin ones and will this be able to control the speed of 3 pin fans(my mobo is 4 pin but it has 3pin option and the hub is 4 pin but will the signal from the motherboard take effect in the hub) ? The middle 4 pin goes to mobo.
