I really want a 1440p monitor, so I think I am going to go that route. Unsure if I want a Korean model or a $700 Asus 1440p. Thoughts?
I'd go for the Asus, because we know they're of good quality, while one of those no-name brands are an unknown quality.
I've got the Asus VG278HE which supports NVIDIA LightBoost and 144Hz refresh rate and I love it. The days of TN displays having a crap picture are long gone. In your case, you should go for an Asus 1440 resolution model, of course.
As frag maniac said though, the 1440 resolution could show up the limits of your card. In that case, if you don't mind gaming on it at something like 1080 you should be ok. Game performance will also depend on the game, of course, with older ones running smooth no problem and some new ones, too. The rest of the time, you'll get to enjoy a gorgeous high res desktop.
