I really want a 1440p monitor, so I think I am going to go that route. Unsure if I want a Korean model or a $700 Asus 1440p. Thoughts?

I'd go for the Asus, because we know they're of good quality, while one of those no-name brands are an unknown quality.

I've got the Asus VG278HE which supports NVIDIA LightBoost and 144Hz refresh rate and I love it. The days of TN displays having a crap picture are long gone. In your case, you should go for an Asus 1440 resolution model, of course.

As frag maniac said though, the 1440 resolution could show up the limits of your card. In that case, if you don't mind gaming on it at something like 1080 you should be ok. Game performance will also depend on the game, of course, with older ones running smooth no problem and some new ones, too. The rest of the time, you'll get to enjoy a gorgeous high res desktop. :)

There's pretty much nothing I could suggest you purchasing for your PC.
It's a good set up.

Get a mini fridge to put beside you at your PC and fill it up with your favorite beverage.

The only reason I hesitate to recommend a 1440p display is it could suddenly make your single 7950 seem inadequate in the more resource hungry games. The stands are also of questionable quality on the cheaper Korean ones.

That said, you can always upgrade the stand eventually and play the games with high end graphics at 1080p, which still has acceptable pixel size on a 27".

That's why I'd get an old style Crossover. Metal housing and stand, and from the seller I recommended you get an A grade panel instead of A-.

I'd save the money for an upgrade when the time comes, or (and I know this has been said several times already) get an SSD and a bigger screen. An SSD really show its value when it comes to multitasking, when I first got an SSD I played around with various configurations and found that a PC with 2 GB of RAM and an SSD can beat the socks off of 8 GB of RAM and two high speed hard drives (at the time, Samsung F3 1 TB drives short-stroked to 200 GB).

Re

I would give that money to me so I can get a decent, non-crappy computer. So sad, started an acct here just to post this

But really, quoting Widjaja, you could get a Mini fridge. Those things seem cool. Plus there are plenty other things like flatscreen TV's and as you said in the OP an extra monitor isn't a bad idea. 'Course I don't know how those things work, as I'm not lucky enough to have a monitor. Just an old Notebook PC

Mini Fridges are pretty cool lookin'...

Well just realized I mis-spelled my username. Time for a new acct.

save it for that rainy day.....or when something eventually breaks

This. Just do this. Just whack it into a bank fund, get the interest on it, and when you need a new car, or go on holiday the money is already there good to go.

Your rig is fine. Get yourself a low power 24/7, host your own private webserver/fileserver for u and the family, and let it CRUNCH 24/7 and do some good with your gain.

That sounds pretty awesome, can't wait to see pics! :toast:
I hope you hang onto this one instead of selling it like all your other cool toys that you sold! ;)

I only sold the other stuff because it wasn't paid for, it was on my CC. This is paid for. So I will not be selling it.

Also, my Samsung SSD I had, I paid $199 free ship and I sold it 3 months later for $205 on Ebay to some guy in Puerto Rico.

Same with my monitors, I actually gained a few bucks in selling two Korean monitors, because most people on Ebay it turns out are afraid to buy from South Korea, they feel safer with an Indiana account with 100% feedback since 2001. :)

Now that you got your screen, next upgrade should prob be 80~150$ cans and 50~100$ sound card or external USB DAC if you like music and care about sound (most don't even if they claim they do). Apart from that a second 7950 would be nice, and finally, I know you said you didn't want one, but a little 128GB Samsung 830 would lower noise levels from your HDD and stress it less as it won't last as long as an SSD. Also the boot time and access times DO make a difference, specially in Win 8. IF you still are looking to spend after all this, probably would try different peripherals, chairs etc

but TBH you really are set right now
