I have a roccat Aimo 120 keyboard, I got it cheap but have realised why now.
Tab ,cntrl don't work ,m, g and a few more keys are hit and miss.
No problems I'll swap them all and can but I'm not sure what for ,I can get Gatoron ,kahli ,bangood, cherry brown's are expensive but which is best, they do need to have translucent bases for RGB pass through though.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated ,I have not experienced many different keys this is my first decent keyboard since £10 dell ones were cheap so I am light on info here.

replacing keys can get expensive, do you mean keycaps or replacing entire switches?

you might be better off just buying a new mech keyboard. switch replacement kits are almost as expensive as new mech keyboards from what i have seen, but maybe its different in UK I don't know

Well , that's why I'm trying to pick from kahli, gateron or bangood, the cherry's are much more expensive like £30 for 30 I'd need 4 sets argh , gaterons are what I am leaning towards.

@micropage7 Ty I'll watch those.

i'd go with gateron... i'd avoid any clicky noise switches. as someone who used to love cherry blues, i can say 100% after several years of it its starting to drive me insane a bit and i never even noticed. LOL

i want some cherry speed silver switches, but they are too pricey. i might try some gateron clears or something

yep, i have gateron and kailh keyboard somewhere, so far i can recall it's good but MX for me is more consistent, but for price and stuff ratio gateron and kailh is pretty decent

I'm leaning towards gateron brown's at the minute, so tactile I would say.

The videos helped, definitely not clicky and linear seem a bit vague on actuation point idk.

I might get them ordered in a bit, I have some PayPal credit left and I can't buy eggs with it lol.

While staring at a broken FX 8350 in a board I also need to start drawing a line in the sand and throwing some stuff away.

i want to try those Jade switches from the video lol

i tried cherry mx green one time, i thought i would love it, but nope, it fatigued my fingers more than i expected since harder to press down. you wouldn't think a tiny amount of change would matter but it really does if you type a lot.

i have some cherry reds on logitech board and i love those.

Well I do like the self made roccat brown's that's why I am leaning towards brown's but I can't get them, I'll take a look at reds ,lower activation pressure, linear if I recall.

cherry switches are impressive. i think i will just stick with my cherry reds and be happy.

At one point I got into buying Amazon returns to repair but after dropping £700(I spent way more but it wasn't all fail just too much fail) in total on total shite I realized the error of my ways.
Still don't like giving up on shit though, I would rather fix then throw especially if I have to replace it.
I think this has been Used, though clearly roccat keys do not last like cherry's, I don't mind having a go though, I'll do some pics when I am doing it if you want, give an idea of difficulty etc.
I will be knew to switch swaps though.

What's best is what you like, I like smooth stroke mechanical. Browns and blues have a clicky to them, the new logitech keyboard is a hit with gamers who like the clicky feel, but it's not a cheap keyboard. I like corsair keyboards too and they come in a bunch of different flavors.

Love their keyboards but I absolutely hate icue, I am forced by my stupidity to use it too much already.

I have an older Roccat keyboard from 2014 it has MX Brown switches as well. I would say what is best for you may not be so for someone else. Some people like a firmer switch, some like a mushy switch, some like ones that are in between, that is why I got the Browns. The key caps are translucent in the stenciling. As far as a recall there is a LED that is set off to the side which does not interfere with actuation of the key.

t I absolutely hate icue
me too, its a pain. i just let my k75 do its thing "red with white WASD and arrows" i run the rog armory crate with Arora on the Flare 2 and everything matches mobo fans gpu the lot, i think icue should be put in a block of concrete and dropped in the north sea :) .

At the minute I can't get it to install, had a few bad events due to icue failing to ramp fans with temp, my GPU has no direct control of cooling ATM , it's overcooled though never hits above 45 still I will probably do a fresh install later, I swapped a 3800x for a 5600G without OS change, I can't see it's GPU too though I think that's because it's in a crosshair impact without video output, I do have a Asus prime b550m but don't want it in my main rig really.
I should get some stuff sold on really.

Before you go forward with replacement, I suggest trying a bit of cleaning first. Sometimes it's a bit of oxidation on copper contacts (old Kaihl used to be the worst with that).
Just remove your keycaps, make a few drops of IPA on the pressed stem, so the alcohol makes its way inside, do a few dozen clicks and check if it works any better.
Alternatively, you can get some Gateron Browns, replace your functional keys with them, and keep a few working titan switches for fixing alphanumeric keys. Buying a 10-piece is definitely cheaper than overpaying for a full set. Did that on my cheap-ass Zalman K500 before finally pulling the plug on a full transplant (got a killer deal on 100ct Gateron Browns).
Another option, is to look on local fleebay for a broken AIMO. It could be even better, since your keys have additional support on the stem (cherry and gateron only have a crossbar in the middle), which means your flimsy keycaps will be even flimsier... :banghead:

TheoneandonlyMrK

had a big clear out before christmas just to get a bit more room in the obsyroom/lab ,gave most away as ebay wants too much of a cut with stuff which isnt worth much but you know how it is- we clear a space then fill it.
