I have been trying to install windows xp on my Hp DV6700 for ages but windows xp doesn't detect the hard drive can somebody help me please. here is the information --------------------------------------

Either set your SATA controller to IDE mode in your BIOS or get the driver for your controller.

YOu can splitstream the drivers with Nlite and then reburn and it should find it then. I had to do this for three of my friends toshiba laptops. Just get the sata/raid drivers off of the HP website for your model then extract the CD to you hard drive some were then use Nlite.
