See yeah there is that issue. Looking at the expensive cams .
Man them are too much.
There has to be a cam that will run 24/7, If I have to build a water proof box I can that is not an issue.
Not paying 1K for a cam.

This much cheaper option 290 is about a gopro price depending on gopro. All 4 options
May need some extra cables for it to work for streaming thru computer, but has dvr and video cables. So it could be possible.

BARLUS 1080P 2MP 60FPS Underwater POE IP Camera Ultra Wide Angle 2.0MM
on Amazon or Barlus

I wouldn't spend a lot of money on your first go round. Prototype. Learn what works and what doesn't. Don't drop all the money and then realize what you did doesn't work. If it were me, I would buy things as cheap as I could and waterproof them. Get the PoC done first. Then iterative improvements.

Build a waterproof enclosure for a cheap camera first. Have all the cables run into a cheap pc isolated from anything you care about (in case your waterproofing fails and shorts out everything connected to it).

Then get the streaming working.

Then make it better. Piece by piece.

They don't do anything. What are you going to watch......them grow? :p

Your biggest problem think will be algae and particulate matter .... is the pond in direct sunlight ? Filtration, movement /oxygenation are important.

I would use one of the cheap action wifi cams, but you'll have to modify the waterproof case to accept a power cable. A small solar panel could likely keep it supplied if you aren't keen on running a ton of power cable...really, just dremel out a notch into the waterproof case for the power cable to go through, and use a good silicone to seal the cable entry up and run the wire to your power source. It only needs a constant 5V at *maybe 1A. Once you have power, connecting to it using wifi is fairly painless, but I don't imagine the distance is great...that might become an issue to sort out...

Don't go with GoPro's. You can watch the live feed while taking pictures, but you cannot watch the live feed while in video mode, and video output (via wifi at least) only outputs recorded video, not live video. The charging ports are behind the waterproof casing, and you can't charge them underwater, or keep a constant power source to them.

Okay so I need some cam's and some water tight boxes and a computer.
What cam should I use? One that will not loose power work 24/7 have at least HD color and be able to send a signal 75+ feet or cable that is = to that.
I have the computer and have the stuff to make the box for the cam.
