Still surviving. This chip is really good for overclocking. 5ghz at 1.48 core voltage on gigabyte z77x- d3h MotherboardTemps are really good it's not even hit 80° when stressing. Btw way running with custom loop with 360 rad

I love these chips. I run mine at 4.2 GHz on stock voltage on my Asus P8Z77-M Pro. They are built with plenty of headroom.

My best one. CPU has not been de-lidded.

I've tested a lot of them and it seems the average @ 4.5Ghz is around 1.25v. I find anything under 1.2v is a good CPU.

if only I had a decent motherboard when I had my 3570k but the bugger wouldn't budge past 4.3ghz, still that's why I ended up buying a Ryzen, so you know? silver linings and all that, but 5ghz is pretty damn impressive :rockout:

Ivy Bridge CPU's still overclock better than worst of the worst - Skylake, like i5 6600K and i7 6700K. I have yet to see any i7 6700K or i5 6600K to hit 5 GHz without surpassing 1,5V and remain stable. Even those are can reach 5 GHz are extremely rate, like 1 out of 1000 or rarer, while 99% of them cannot even reach stable 4,9 GHz without surpassing 1,5 V or stable 4,8 GHz without surpassing 1,42 V...

Well, a hand picked 3770K I got to replace it was able to do 4.8 at 1.2 but wasn't stable. To be honest, it wasn't stable at anything including stock. BSOD about once a week sometimes more. That motherboard, Z77XUD3H also hated any ram I put in. Garbage motherboard and it turned me off Gigabyte for good.

The 8600K and Z370 Taichi I have was able to do 5Ghz at 1.26 but I couldn't dial the stability in while remaining at a temperature and voltage I was comfortable with 24/7. I also got my ram to run at 4300. But, since I couldn't tell a difference between stock and overclocked, I just raised the multiplier as high as I could go on stock voltage and run it at 4.6 at 1.168-1.184 core voltage using offset, 46X CPU / 43x NB uncore / and ram at the stock xmp 3200CL14, dram voltage 1.345, vccio 1.0, vcsst 1.0. Never BSOD its been a year at this setting. I hate BSODs and instability so its solid for me. I wish I could run my NB higher but the settings do not stick after 43x even though I can run it as high as the CPU multi when I do it using the XTU in windows, some kind of BIOS bug. A shame because the CPU-NB aka uncore was the one setting that I could perceive some improvement from. CPU never goes over 60*C with the gaming workloads I do, typically it sits at 25 idle and 55 load. Big improvement from my Ivy Bridge system.

Never had a Ivy-Bridge, just Sandy-Bridge E (of which I've had two 3930k CPUs) and Sandy Bridge. First 3930k I don't know how far I could OC it. I was running it at 4.5 GHz for a while. My current 3930k I haven't been able to get past 4.4 GHz, and for running WCG, I run a 4.2 GHz OC to keep temps down some. I donated one of the 3930k systems, but shipped the wrong CPU (I meant to keep the better OC'er). My 2600k would do 5 GHz at 1.38 v

Those would be Sandy chips, not Ivy. Ivy was 4*** chips. Don’t forget that the HEDT is a gen behind for its naming structure. 5 series were Haswell based.

5.0GHz(all cores 24/7 stable) is exceptional for a 3570K. I've had one that did 5.0GHz(all cores) w/ ~1.52V(IIRC), one that did 4.7GHz(all cores) w/ 1.49V, and one that does 4.8GHz(all cores) w/ 1.48V. You guys that aren't getting at least 4.6GHz are doing it wrong. :p

BTW 1.48V is nothing to worry about on IVB. I ran the one @ 4.7GHz(all cores) with 1.49V for years without issues. I eventually killed it. But it had nothing to do with voltage. Long story...don't want to tell it. Anyway...the one I replaced it with does 4.8 with less volts. So...all's well that ends well. :D

Never had an Ivy here. Here in Finland Sandys were much more popular, just because they clocked higher.

2500K @ 4.7
2600K @ 4.8
G3258 @ 4.7
7600K @ 4.7
7700K @ 5.1
5820K @ 4.5

After those, I went back to AMD.

I'm on a stable 4.8ghz with 1.38v delidded 6600k + z270x gaming 7.
That's pretty nice! I need >1.5V for 4.8ghz on my naked die wc'd 6700K. It's still kinda fun to abuse it since it stays really cool but I doubt it'd ever reach 5.0, other than a simple cpuz validation perhaps. Your 6600K could prob do 5.0 stable on save-ish voltage! :D

Sweet? How's that chip temps on underload?

It's delided, liquid metal and kryonaut thermal paste. Temps when playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey which put CPU usage @ 80-100% across all cores sees me hitting temps of 65-70c. Aida 64 stability testing will hit temps of 80-85c. The CPU is cooled with an old Corsair H105 with Noctua redux 120mm fans .

5.2Ghz (x52 multiplier) 24/7 stable @ 1.45v.

Already tried it to see if I got a good CPU, though it had seemed to hit a wall and even 1.45v wasn't doing it.
6600K/6700K hitting 5GHz is AFAIK rare, IMO that's where Kaby Lake steps in, since they simply overclock more than Skylake. My old 7700K could go further than 5.1GHz, but I it wasn't worth the extra voltage. CS:GO stable even with 5.3GHz. :D

Delidded, liquid metal and watercooled.
