hi all,
yesterday i received my joy package my new hardware...
i7 2600k, just 3 words..... F****** awesome cpu haha
P67A-GD65 B3 mobo
16 gb corsair xms3 DDR3
antec high current gamer 900w
Weird thing is in most games its faster with 2 cores enabled (with HT) while logical thinking 4 cores should do better. the reason i switched to 2 cores is..... u already guessed it the heat... haha i have a decent airflow 3 case fans 1 exhaust and 2 intakes but still with all 4 cores enabled it reached almost the 80°c brick barrier... and i just have it.. so i decided to switch to 2 cores with ht enabled so i still get the 4 core performance but thats just it, it performes way better with 2 cores then 4 ? can someone elaborate. cuz i can easily run 3.9 ghz maybe 4 ghz havent tried that yet, but the temps do not exceeed 63°c on all cores. so thats nice.
my thermaltake FRIO cooler should be here about tommorow around 1ish.. so i hope the it can handle the heat, the heatpipes do make direct contact with the cpu for instant transfer so that must be a good sign...
anyone got experience on the thermaltake FRIO ?
