In a move that signals a firm and ongoing commitment to advanced semiconductor technology leadership, IBM, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Ltd., GLOBALFOUNDRIES, Infineon Technologies, Samsung Electronics, Co., Ltd., and STMicroelectronics have defined and are jointly developing a 28-nanometer, high-k metal gate (HKMG), low-power bulk complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) process technology.

indeed although i seem to be more interested in intels discovery with the new materials for making their chips. seems to be more power efficient then going from 32nm to 28nm

I think this announcement is reserved for mobile or green users, we can't just go 32nm to 28nm its ridiculous.

even so. 90% less power consumption [from intel] is still better then 40% less power consumption from 28nm don't you think? well just have to wait and see
