been around for a while, and tested as one of the best, just usually a bit on the pricey side;)

you should enjoy the benifits of your purchase though.

I seen it on flee bay a while ago but wasnt sure on it. Erocker pointed me to a site today and I more less ordered something but it was an anonymous order lol... but any way it's all fixed now and I got the shipping cost on the one item returned and thought heck why not try this stuff...

I hope it works well, does any one have any recommendations on how to apply it on a quad core cpu?

It was $6 dollars for a tube of it.... hell AS5 at the local shop runs me 15 bones

for $6 who cares how it spreads;)

you can try a couple things out and see what does better for freeking $6:roll:

sorry wish I knew a little more, but I do know a while back a few guys did use this for their rigs, so I'm sure advice will soon come.

Also I think I'll change the title to attract a bit more attention;)

I would apply it the same way AS5 recommends, so for an AMD Quad: a dab right in the center then let the block do the spreading. Pull it off one time to check your distribution and adjust amount accordingly for the final application :)

from what i remember that stuff topped the charts in terms of best thermal paste in just about every review on it.. beating out fan faves like the MX2 etc

Many reviews on the Goognet on this paste, but as said before, always very expensive and offers very little over other brands.

But, the best way to apply this thick paste is to dip the tube in some warm water for about 30 seconds to 'soften' it up a little...makes it very easy to apply that way.

Also, I always spread the paste before the sink goes on....that was I can make sure I dont apply too much and it always gives me a very thin, consistent layer. :)

ever since i lapped the block i just put a bb size amount in the center and set the block on.... any time i pull it off its got a real nice spread to it.
but for sure ill give it a go

I tired "AIT thermal pads" just for the heck of it and guess what, my e8500 is about 4-9c cooler than it was with AS5 and MX-2.

Maybe because it was a "pad" and a lot easier to work with than the tube stuff. I'm using the coolermaster hyper z600 heatsink. And the way it is setup, I can't "twist" the heatsink in place like some thermal paste recommends...

It's on passive mode and idling at 29-33c. Where it was 34-38c before.

OK. I've tested this paste a few months ago. It performs well, but it spreads terrible and it's a bitch to get off the CPU HS. Considering it was only like 1-2c better than other quality pastes, it just wasn't worth it to me.

ok so how long you let it cure b4 placing the block over it?

and also did you heat the sucker up to max up n down hot-cool and back down for at least 2 hrs?

PS..... I betcha you used to much and or didn't wait the time b4 placing the block on.

I'm not sure. It's been awhile. I do remember following the directions per IC's website. See here: http://www.innovationcooling.com/ICDtroublshooting.htm

As far as burn in, I always do a significant burn after application. Thing is, I've used about every TIM on the market. After using so many, I've found that I like Noctua NT-H1 and MX-2 the best, because of an excellent mix of temps and spreading.
