I did a modification to put the fans to the maximum manually (more than with the performance mode that includes). With this mod I got a reduction of 10c playing demanding cpu games like Fortnite, I went from 93c to 78c-86c. I added a switch to be able to choose if I want the fans to the maximum or to let the system control them. use google translator, in case the text has typos.

note, always use liquid metal

So what does that switch actually toggle?

@L-C this might be interesting to you :p
the switch alternates the blue and green wire of the fans,
what would be the rpm control, the fan has 4 wires, you have to leave the yellow wire that would be detecting the fan or otherwise the equipment is protected, I will draw a diagram.

to you make this modification, the motherboard would give all the amperage to the fans, the noise increases a lot, this is something similar to an option that has the nitro 5 that leaves the fans at their maximum power. This modification does not cause damage to the fans, since it is the maximum power given by the manufacturer, this modification was made in the absence of a software that provides control over fans. note, the gpu under almost 10c, in heavy games it does not exceed 70c I did a test in furmark for 1 hour and the gpu did not pass 80c

You’re basically disconnecting the pwm signal right ? I thought laptops got so smart that this trick didn’t work anymore in new laptops, Lenovo is an exception I guess

Hmm, I just see a switch connected to nothing?

This thread belongs here btw: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/forums/cases-modding-electronics.17/
sorry, I have not taken photos I was doing tests, later I will take more photos as I will correct the wiring.

Exactly !, that is possible by leaving the yellow cable connected, which would be the fan detection, if you disconnect that cable, the bios activates the protection systems and turns off.
This works because the manufacturer allows it, in theory according to me the motherboard manages the speed of the fans by attenuating the pwm signal.
on other laptops they don't have the pwm cable and only adjust the voltage.

do you have any suggestions? :)

Actually most laptops these days use pwm to control the fans ..

enjoy your laptop , much cooler but also much more noisier :p

Maybe a low profile switch will look better , something like a laptop wifi switch

The problem with these switches is that they are not two-way, the switch that I put is two-way because it alternates two cables since this laptop has two fans and I need to alternate two pwm signals
