I'm in desperate need of help with my laptop

So I got this laptop the HP omen 15 2018
that comes with the i7 9500h and a 2070 max q Design
So while I was exploring a bunch of forums in this website related to my cpu and yes it did improve my laptop by a lot games are smoother, Streaming was smoother and editing and designing became a lot better but I see
results higher than mine and temps lower than mine and I want it to be like that.
P.S if you got confused and saw the difference in some voltage and stuff its because I'm testing two profiles one that is limited to 28 cores and the other no limit at all, all 45 cores active or whatever it is

If gaming, lower cores 1-6 all to 40x. The use of additional cores(41-45x), during an already taxing workload(gaming), for background apps in the operating system background leads to unecessary stuttering, heat, and power draw. Spikes in frequency from 40x to 45x always stutters my system in this case. Anything lower than -120mv for core offset at 4.0ghz starts losing small bits of performance, but at greatly reduced temps. I run -175mv core and -85mv cache, cores 1-6 @ 40x, almost all the time plugging in while gaming. Then use 26x and -200mv core for battery use. Mine is a 9750h and rtx 2070 mobile @1800Mhz/+400Mhz@0.85v. Cne20 score of 2000 is ridiculously low for 9750h at 4.0ghz. Your undervolt of -200mv core and cache -125mv might be causing a big gap in performance and causing PL1/PL2 Limit errors. I consistently get above 2900. Highest is 3150. My best score comes at a -100mv core and -85mv cache. disregard if cne20 was completed @ 2.6Ghz. -125mv is the sweet spot for performance versus voltage for my laptop. My 9750h Will not do any cache lower than -90mv or its BSOD. A stable -125mv cache is a good binned chip.

Hope you're not comparing laptop parts with desktop parts. By comparison, laptops > lower clocks for lower heat output. Desktops CPUs/GPUs open up plenty of breathing space for larger cooling solutions hence higher performance and lower thermals.

Hmm I'm really not sure to be honest but yeah I just see what is but maybe I made a mistake looking at a PC undervolt forum possibly and thanks for the heads up!

Imma try to adjust to that and thank you so much for telling about this at the same time I was discussing with unclewebb he mentions that my settings are great but mostly its the cooling system that is the problem since most of my friends told me that HP Omens are known to be extremely hot and known for overheating.

oh adding to that you are also an Hp omen user too right?

The 96-100C temps on your cores are an indication it needs more than an undervolt; it needs to be repasted. The 9750H is definitely capable of breaking 3000 points in CBR20 if adequately cooled.

Ahh and What I really want to know from this is that what voltage do you reccomend since well im gaming it says that your best score is -100 core -85 but when you game its -175 core and -85 cache I'm wondering what I should go for? All I know is that from what you all are saying is that I undervolted way too much. Well since my logic was the more you undervolt the lower the temp.

I use Liquidmetal for both cpu and gpu. You can reach thermal limits even with a fresh repaste, but if its the stock solution, you need to get some. I recommend a ONE AND DONE thermal paste. Its more tacky, performs identically as the best around, and i personally use it. its called prolimatech PK-3. But generic artic cooling mx-4 works too. Windows 11 locks the 9750h out of undervolting, meaning you aint even running one, even with throttlestop and bios undervolt. you need to first go into windows search bar, search for "core isolation" and turn that off. Than go into bios and find the "Intel Virtualization Technology" and disable it. That enables throttlestop undervolts for core and cache offset. you want to find the lowest stable cache. Match core with cache undervolt at first. Do like -100mv for both. If it crashes back off to 90mv then 80mv, if it happens again. Once you find the right undervolt stable enough to run on cache. Set the core offset to -175mv. cores all max to 40x. try that and test cne20. If you can get a score close to 3000 than there isnt a problem with temperatures. wait wait wait my bad i meant to say is that Im on windows 10 woops sorry for the misconception

I used grizzly thermal paste what do you think about that and also I'm so sorry that I'm a huge noob but like what I want to know is that what is considered stable and how to check since I have undervolted down a lot for the cache offset and its still fine. What do you think about that?

And for the temperature some people said that its the cooling so should I get like a new copper heatsink? from what I've seen on youtube people just get a new heatsink and the temps went down by like 10c

In addition to the liquid metal thing I've tried that on my old laptop and it just destroy my laptop completely and I have did everything to keep it safe like added safety prevent it from leaking out and applied it to make it thin, the thing that happened was boom it short circuited.

And for my recent results after configuring to the settings you suggested it was still on 2000 or even lowering lower to 1990s if i go lower like -175 core and -125 cache it will be on 2093 which is the highest but from what I have seen while watching cinebench and throttlestop is that its capped at 2799 mhz which is odd which yes its showing that its not using it full potential

another update is that when I just recently turned on my laptop today for the first time the blue death screen showed up so I increase the cache to -85 to see wassup.

In addition im wonder if the omen hub has anything to do with this type of thing.
FYI this is considered Idle

Also this is the old omen hub and their is no undervolting settings at all and im wondering if this performance setting is making it overheat and limiting alot of the performance

@thaiiitea and I have already talked about this problem for a while. I told him that the main problem is poor cooling. Not sure if the thermal paste failed or if it was not applied properly or what happened. ThrottleStop can help out but it cannot fix a severe cooling problem. Idle temperatures at 80°C are a good sign that something is not right with the cooling. Maybe a screw was stripped. The only way to try and find out is to disassemble the laptop again and have a good look.

A 6 core mobile CPU that can only score 2000 points in Cinebench R20 is a sick puppy. That shows that it is constantly overheating and throttling. A well cooled laptop with a 9750H should be able to score 3000 points in that benchmark.
