This is a super important question since it really is asked by millions of people when will GPU shortages end?
I want to hear your opinions/answers. My guess is in 2022 in the early-mid of it since a lot of sellers are simply not doing anything to stop these foolish bots and scalpers but a couple is rejecting super fast orders and getting rid of scalpers slowly but hopefully, it will finally become the new era of bots dying out.
What about you whats your opinion/answer.
PS. I will lock this thread tomorrow since I don't want people harassing me or people.

It's just opinions, because no one really knows, so I don't see what's especially important about them. I reckon another year or two, maybe.

Also, you can't lock your own thread, you'd have to ask a mod to do it by hitting the Report button against your post.

I'm just asking people what they think when will GPU shortages end and also I know a mod who can lock a thread so that's that All I'm asking is when will GPU shortages end in your opinion what do you think?

i just think it will never, since demand is much way higher that the supply and since that many will try to take the advantage on it
so you can expect just the mid range card not the top tier since top tier is getting rare and rare

Biggest shortages for GPU's are:

A) Sellers not taking immediate, definitive action to stop scalpers/bots/hoarders
B) People stupido enough to pay outrageous prices for the cards...
C) see A above
D) see B above

just boycott them until the prices come back down :)

A poll would probably be a good idea with questions like these.
I'm gonna go with the 2nd half of 2022 at the earliest, but as others have said there might be a need for an industry wide change, something that takes quite a while in this biz, before shortages really disappear.

When the crypto crazy as we know it ends and when people smarten up and make a virtual currency that doesn't involve needlessly making the room warm and has better performance characteristics. When we stop generating hashes for everything and do it just for the things that actually need it, then we'll see the trend change. But as long as miners think they can profit from it, that demand won't be going away.

How do scalpers cause a shortage? I don't see the connection.
Scalpers use bots and eat up the MSRP supplies and spit out the the prices that are 3,4,5x higher than msrp.

Making it impossible for average people who want to buy MSRP prices.

shortage or insane prices?
because there is literally 24/7 stock but for insane prices... even the XTXH 6900XT models are all in stock (from the toxic over the Strix TOP, Liquid devil, red devil ultimate etc.)

prices back to somewhat close to MSRP? probably never.

Both I can say since people are buying up the GPUs insanely decreasing fast. For either mining or selling it at Insane prices making nobody *unless stupid people who are willing to buy any prices* able to buy them for MSRP causing the GPU bought by normal people impossible.

A lot of people asking a question doesn't make the question more logical. Let's take it, what's the best Fortnite mouse, or what happens after you die? Is A lot of people ask these and they pop out on Google right away.

Anybody who's telling you an exact date is speaking out of thin air. Intel's executive guessed this to last at least couple years more, then again that's a guesstimate as well.

What I think is irrelevant, as I need a magic ball to give you accurate information regarding this topic. If you want to cherry pick better looking answers and believe in what you want to believe in, that's fine but you'll just be lying to yourself. Nobody knows exactly when it'll end.

This whole thing turned into an economical inflation of a poor 3rd world country and I can only tell you that when these kind of things happen, it takes a long time to recover.

You have a point there but there I'm not asking for the exact correct answers and nobody has the exact date when shortages and prices will go down but All I'm asking is for people opinions and their thoughts I'm not expecting out the sky the best answer cause none of these answers are correct nor incorrect. Also thank you for your answer "It takes a long time to recover" that's all I asked for and nothing more.

Well the "very importance" of this question leads to one's gaming habits... but anyways if you want a GPU and if you're starting from 0, pre-builts exist - and some are decent. You get a GPU, sometimes a good monitor and a decent setup for like a grand. That's what I'd have done if I had nothing.

The exact answer is when supply of GPUs meets the demand for GPUs. Now that you have the answer you can close the thread.

Asking for an opinion on when the GPU shortage will be over?

The whole world is looking for higher prices AND inflation.

We're in the process of topping in prices right now...the pressure should start coming off in the next month or two as inflationary(and supply shock) prices ease. Why? As the stock market turns...you'll see there actually is very little inflationary pressure, just victimization from JIT inventory levels during the pandemic.

When the market heads south...demand for "everything" will dry up quickly. Again, why? Demand has already been pushed as far up the XY curve as possible and despite "gimme a stimmy" helicopter drops...the US population doesn't have the pocketbook to sustain the pressure. The pendulum will swing the other way in quick fashion. Therefore....the recent large increases in the short term money supply will be burned up in the process.

Across the spectrum of markets in the US...all we need is a good sharp pin.

Best Regards,

Liquid Cool

imo it will be a few years. It's not going to happen next year.
The shortages are caused by several factors:

Miners hoarding gaming GPUs to mine crypto.

A shortage of components that go on a PCB to make a card as Huang has said months ago.

A huge rise in demand caused by the Pandemic causing people to be stuck at home and they are looking for entertainment from gaming because they are bored.

Transportation issues caused by the Pandemic.

Lack of fabs to meet demand. This should change in a few years as new fabs come online.

The parasite scalpers will have to be dealt with eventually. They won't stop buying up almost all of the available cards using bots and forcing gamers to go through them or go without unless they are forced to.
