Impossble OC Software- 2x HD 6850 Crossfire

I've started another thread to talk about a common issue that seems happen to crossfire users of those cards

i've got 2x sapphire toxic hd 6850 in crossfire 8x 8x

i could OC only via Catalyst Control Center to overdrive limits (very poor, 850/1200 at least for core)
i noticed this card could overwhelm the gap with 6870

but if i use tools such as TRIXX and Afterburner, if i just set 1 mhz up or down any setting and click on APPLY the pc freezes instantly causing manual reboot

i tried many times and many ways, also looking for the two keys ULPS in registry and setting them to 0, but i ever get the same result...

someone can helP?

Umm... RBE and do a method 2 (no hash) increase of overdrive limits? Just guessing though.

it seems an unsafe path i need more info about these methods

i had most softwares not overclocking and ccc wasnt overclocking much on my 5850 so i tried amd gpu clock tool which worked flawlessly... try that it might work

It would be nice from you to filled up your system specs ;)

Anyhow, i suspect your PSU is not strong enough for your cards in crossfire + overclocking or heat issues

mmm i don't think so, i've got a Corsair 750 TX PSU - it's a slight boost afterall

take a look at my specs

i'll try amd gpu tool


EDIT. I've installed it right now, but when i try to start the app it says "ERROR. no valid device found"
