Increase TDP power limit (laptop)

Hello, I'm new here.

I have a relatively old laptop (Asus Rog Strix G 531GV) with an i7-9750H undervolted and an RTX2060 6GB mobile. I want to increase the TDP limit of my gpu from 90W to 115W. I've already checked if my power brick supports such wattage, and it does (since 19.5V x 11.8A i think give 230W in total). Now my laptop uses 45W for the cpu and 90W for the gpu. I have to admit that my cpu is undervolted after I unlocked some values inside something like "bios matrices" with a tool called ru.exe, and disabling the values of cfg lock and overclocking lock. Now, I want to flash my gpu's vBIOS but it doesn't succeed. I made a backup.rom of my current vBIOS just in case, and then I downloaded a tool called mobile pascal tdp tweaker to change my 90W limit to 115W and then save the modded.rom file and flash it via nvflash64. Although I did everything right, when I type the command nvflash64 --check it says status register: restricted or unsupported. And that got me thinking that it cannot access completely my gpu because it is probably locked (also in MSI Afterburner the settings for TDP/power limits are grayed out). And I know for a fact that if check fails, is not a good idea to procceed to flashing even with my own/current vBIOS. I have to make it work and complete the --check first! Any ideas...?

Thanks in advance.

Gpu-z screenshot please then go to advanced tab and get a screenshot of everything in there

And they are limited because of the cooling solution in the laptop if you really want performance that is unhindered build a desktop

You may consider @unclewebb and throttlestop for the cpu. Also most gpu bios in mobiles are inetgrated with the motherboard bios

Thanks for the reply! I don't have the time and money to build a desktop for the time being. Also, my cpu is ok since 1 year after I undervolted with Throttlestop as you said too. My gpu is indeed integrated in the motherboard bios I think, so I'll take a look at the links you sent me for now! I hope there is a way to unlock the vbios/the gpu in general! Also, my gpu is not an AMD, but an Nvidia rtx 2060 6gb mobile.

Thanks again, really appreciate it!

Please go to the advanced tab and get screenshots of all the options under the context menu that has a V next to it

There is only 1 bios dump here.

Only 2 bios files

Also the mgpu might be write protected so you don't brick it

I don't understand what you mean by advanced tab and then taking screenshots of the options that have a v next to them (either I can't see those options, or they aren't there). But I'll get some screenshots to send from the advanced tab! As for the bios dump file in Techpowerup I've already seen that and downloaded it, and it's the same as mine (probably same model, or close to mine. Clock speeds and all that stuff are the same. I also uploaded it on ChatGPT to compare with my backup.rom and said it was the exact same thing). On the other hand the 2 files on Asus support are the 1st bios (307) release for my model, and the other one (the 308 version) is the update. I've already tried the updated 308 version but it had even more locked settings. I tested that when I was trying to find the cfg and overcloking lock values of my cpu, and I couldn't get those values. And I had to downgrade bios to 307 again and then I did take those values, then I disable them and undervolted my cpu, so I can't go back to 308 because everything will be locked for my cpu too. At least now the only locked thing is my gpu only.
I also suspect that there is a version of bios for my specific model (the version 306) which Asus deleted and I can't find it. Some users said that it had some of the laptop hardware settings unlocked (since it was the first bios version) and maybe it has unlocked gpu as well. But for now, I don't want risk downgrading bios even further, especially in a bios version that's not online on Asus support anymore, because I'm afraid of other sites for malware going through the bios and cooking the whole laptop...
