Played quite a bit this weekend and I have more impressions:
- I think that the developers should set a "no clip" code for things like door frames, small inclines, individual sand sacks and such as you often get stuck on stuff that a toddler could crawl over.
- The main advantage for a veteran is knowing the maps and choke points otherwise a new player is on equal footing.
- Snipers! Damn snipers! Good thing there's only two on each team.
- Most fun game modes: Push (my favorite), Skirmish and Occupy (king of the hill). Firefight can be fun or extremely boring depending on the map as once you die you can spend the rest of the round waiting for a re-spawn that never comes since it depends on your teammates capturing an objective. Strike is good but veteran players might have an advantage since they know all the cache spawning points while you go wandering aimlessly.
Didn't see other modes on the servers. I suppose those are the preferred gameplay modes.
- A mic is a must for this game since teamwork is crucial. You have to guard all the flanking points so that two or three players can assault the objectives safely. Going all out in a Wallace-esque charge won't do you any good.
- Smoke. Always. Use. Smoke.
