I'm currently using a store bought machine and just ordered a 4830 512MB to replace the integrated 6150 LE. I also ordered 2GB of RAM and a better CPU, but those are basically self explanatory. I replace the CPU, and I just shove in the 2GB of RAM. With the GPU however, I'm not sure what I have to do to the integrated nVidia before installing the dedicated ATI... such as going into the bios and disabling the integrated? Or uninstalling the drivers completely with software?

That's awesome, so I don't have to do anything but shove everything in and update the drivers. Should I use the driver CD that comes with the 4830 or should I go directly to the website and download the latest drivers?

You can disable the onbourd video card in your BIOS most likely. And get the drivers from ATI's website there probably more up to date.

Other wise bios should just turn it off automaticly
Always use the website downloaded drivers. F the CD that's only used when you do a fresh install of say XP when it doesnt know your card at all and you don't want to look at 16bit colors.

I would do what Mussels said except after you uninstall the nvidia drivers (from device manager) reboot into safe mode and run a driver cleaning program to get rid of all traces of the nvidia drivers so there are no problems with driver conflicts.

I just went from an 8800GT to 4870 crossfire without a driver cleaner, and no issues at all.
