I'm currently using a store bought machine and just ordered a 4830 512MB to replace the integrated 6150 LE. I also ordered 2GB of RAM and a better CPU, but those are basically self explanatory. I replace the CPU, and I just shove in the 2GB of RAM. With the GPU however, I'm not sure what I have to do to the integrated nVidia before installing the dedicated ATI... such as going into the bios and disabling the integrated? Or uninstalling the drivers completely with software?

it will turn off when you add the PCI-E card

Unless you have the intergrated plugged in. Which you can if you want two monitors.

That's awesome, so I don't have to do anything but shove everything in and update the drivers. Should I use the driver CD that comes with the 4830 or should I go directly to the website and download the latest drivers?

And how exactly do I "plug" in the integrated to achieve a dual setup?

You can disable the onbourd video card in your BIOS most likely. And get the drivers from ATI's website there probably more up to date.

Just plug in the monitor to achieve the dual

Other wise bios should just turn it off automaticly

Always use the website downloaded drivers. F the CD that's only used when you do a fresh install of say XP when it doesnt know your card at all and you don't want to look at 16bit colors.

*Uninstall Nvidia drivers.
*Power off machine. Install new video card.
*Power on machine, install ATI drivers from ATI's website (never use the ones from CD, they're always way too old)
*Install the latest directX 9 from microsofts website. Just take it on faith that you need it.

I would do what Mussels said except after you uninstall the nvidia drivers (from device manager) reboot into safe mode and run a driver cleaning program to get rid of all traces of the nvidia drivers so there are no problems with driver conflicts.

I just went from an 8800GT to 4870 crossfire without a driver cleaner, and no issues at all.
