It would physically fit. Same socket support. Dual core 1.86 vs. single core 2.1. FSB speeds are different, though.

Them sockets is a darkness. It will not work though. There's an pretty good guide over at CPU World. Everything from Pentium III Mobile to Core 2's have *almost* the same socket, and some of them uses the same socket, but they're not electricaly compatible with each other.
The 765 is like the second fastest CPU he can get I think. There is one a 2.2 Ghz as well.
