I am pretty sure that Intel pushed the release date back again. I believe it's now 3/17...

Wouldnt surprise me. Theyd want existing units to sell before they released new hardware.

lol. I mean without the Extreme moniker. Is a normal Q9650 due to come out?

According to their CPU list it is. They're dropping the QX9650 and replacing it with a QX9750 (IIRC) and releasing a standard Q9650...

Just looked over the Intel cpu list. I stand corrected. I don't know how I missed that.

Everything above the 9450 is the extreme model. It then goes to 9650, 9750 then 9770.

I know it's for price cuts, but it clearly shows what it will be releasing and in what category.

You would think the price would be the other way around. The 9775 being 1399 and the 9770 being 1499. Seeing as if you wanted the lower TDP, you'd have to pay more for it.

hmm at those prices the Q9300 doesn't seem like a good buy at all, for a few dollars more you get twice the l2 cache and more speed. making the Q9450 the line-ups mvp imho.

+1. Definately the OCer's best bet in C2Q's price to performance.
