Not 'Bentley'! Bensley is Intel's new achievement for server platforms and stuff like that. It features a dual core, a whopping 1066 MHz FSB and 2x2MB 2nd level cache. In this article at Anandtech a Pre-Production System consisting of two 3.46GHz Dual-Core Dempsey Processors, a Blackford (the new Xeon chipset) based Intel Motherboard and 8GB FBDIMM DDR-2 533Mhz RAM compete against a Dual Opteron 280 system.

The benchmark outcome is quite interesting because AnandTech states two winners here. If you want raw power then the Xeon is your friend (note that it's the first time after a long while that a Xeon is really faster). But if you are more an economical type of a person then the Opteron will get the deal.

Times changed in the industry and more people think about additional expenses like power consumption and stuff like that. Another problem is packing density and cooling. You will need twice the cooling capability in your rack and that will cost you too...
