Intel Corporation today announced that its board of directors has promoted David (Dadi) Perlmutter and Arvind Sodhani to serve as executive vice presidents, and has elected Justin Rattner, Ron Friedman and Ravi Jacob as corporate officers.

"The election of corporate officers by the Intel board recognizes the increased responsibility each of these individuals has assumed," said Paul Otellini, president and CEO. "The promotion of Dadi and Arvind to executive vice president honors both their performance and the scope of their current roles at Intel. All five have made important contributions to Intel's success and we look forward to benefiting from their continued leadership."

Perlmutter, 54, is executive vice president and general manager of Intel Corporation's Mobility Group. He is responsible for the design, development and marketing of Intel's solutions for the mobile computing segment including Intel Centrino mobile technology. He also manages cross-Intel product development and architecture decisions. Perlmutter joined Intel in 1980 after graduating from Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, with a B.Sc. in electrical engineering.

Sodhani, 53, is executive vice president of Intel Corporation and president of Intel Capital. In this role, he oversees Intel's global investment organization making equity investments in a broad range of innovative technology start-ups and companies worldwide. Sodhani also has responsibility for mergers and acquisitions in support of Intel's strategic objectives. He joined Intel in 1981 as assistant treasurer of Intel Europe and received his MBA from the University of Michigan.

Friedman, 49, is vice president and general manager of the Mobile Microprocessors Group. He is responsible for teams located in California and Israel that design processors for the converged core roadmap, serving the mobile, server and desktop market segments. He joined Intel in 1984 after graduating from Technion, Israel Institute of Technology with a B.Sc in computer engineering.

Jacob, 54, is vice president and treasurer of Intel Corporation. He has served as treasurer since April 2005. In this role he manages Intel's cash and investments, capital markets activity, currency and other financial risks, credit and collections, retirement assets and risk and insurance. Jacob joined Intel in 1984. He holds a master's degree in business administration from UCLA.

Justin Rattner, 59, is vice president and chief technology officer. He is also an Intel Senior Fellow and head of the Corporate Technology Group. In the latter role, he directs Intel's global research efforts in microprocessors, systems, and communications including the company's disruptive research activity. Rattner joined Intel in 1973. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Cornell University in electrical engineering and computer science.
