This has quite a bit higher IPC than AMD's BD/PD chips.

LMAO that doesn't matter! You won't be using either this or that BD CPU for actual tasks.

They were both overclocked under extreme circumstances to see who could reach the highest clock. The record holder is still AMD.

They have the highest clock indeed. The point he made that you may have glossed over is even though it has the highest clock, the intel is still faster. That matters at ambient clocks too. ;)

It's not faster if it won't be used to do anything faster lol

Who says it wont be used faster? There are plenty of things that take advantage of clockspeed...

So what though... as many have said, its not like people run things up there. The point is to get the highest clockspeed. With intel, finding the fastest single/couple core seems to be needed. Its not like that matters on ambient as all cores would be used, right?

Id bet money says that cpu cant run squat at that clock with all cores...

Fastest 8370 using all cores... 5.5ghz...
http://hwbot.org/submission/3293797_ozzie_wprime___1024m_fx_8370_3min_3sec_515ms

Single core in a 10s bench... 7.9ghz though!

above you got 8370 with 8722 Mhz OC on all 8 cores and 8 threads. That's impressive.

Nice, but nothing really special since AMD broke 8 GHz barrier. Still, that CPU unless offered for 200$ will be a total waste of money, because it's only 4C/8T.

Ive already responded to that... ;)
Oh sorry then. You must have answered to some earlier posts. :) Anyway it is impressive :) I think there where even better OC's. But on the other hand if something cant sustain OC in reasonable Vcore and air or water cooling at least and you would be able to use it for day to day tasks it's just for bragging nothing more. :)

well. I think that more cores will be used more often in the future. Especially if AMD and now Intel as well offer more core as mainstream. So more cores will be utilized and I guess it is time to switch to 6-8 core cpu's :)

holy shit?! did i just wake up in the P4 era?! o_O

besides the sheer fun, imo at least, of such an endeavor, the real world applications are non-existent.
wake me up when it can be done on all cores on air. :rockout:

Good point... forgot about that. They wanted me in there because I get a (single) ES for review... basically told them to kiss it as I am not sponsored or get any other help like those guys do.

How much help do you think I get? :D

No clue... not sure who you are really... :)

I just know that the rules say one thing about ES, I don't fit into those, and I still couldn't submit with it (for boints)... but, that's Hwbot for ya!

Nope. I responded to your assertion of the 8 cores...

cool beans and all, but so what. :)

How many unnecessary disputs. Read what they have done.
Opened, all of the multiplier (X75) voltages does not change, and turning off the cores 2 and 6 threades. So the result was achieved with 2 cores and 2 threades , when cooling with hydrogen. What does this mean for us users is preferred ask. RAM won the high jump , and will greatly increased, the operating frequency , and CPU will also allow the higher frequencies from basic! That's all I can conclude here. ! Who at home is using a normal CPU with hydrogen cooling is better to ask. Quarrel about games. this are not the Olympics.
