The E2160 and E2140 are now up on newegg, I'm interested in how these perform and, more importantly, overclock.

I really just want to see how far these overclock, I would love to hit a 400MHz FSB with the E2160. I think it would perform quite nicely at 3.6GHz. It would be interesting to see how it compares to the full E6600 at the same speed.

I've been looking for cheap crap to replace a Celeron as well. This sounds pretty interesting, since a E4300 already is very cheap, these must be even cheaper. And since they should be the same cores they should easily pass 3GHz if the FSB allows it. Should be interesting.

Well that was actually the plan all along. I was going to just use the Celeron just until the E4300 came out, then I heard about these and decided to wait. Now it is just a matter of seeing if these are going to do what I want and actually perform with only 1mb of cache.

and 21s is better than my 3000+ am2 athlon, i mostly changed for being dual core (and not finding a x2 3600 brisbanne)

i just looked through a cpu test in custom pc magazine, and a core 2 6600 does it in 21.25, a 6300 in 29.391, and an athlon fx62 done it in 30.515

2160>2140 as far as overclocking goes. At least in that article. Maybe they had a bad 2140. The low score PT has probably has a little to do with his RAM. RAM isn't as important and CPU, but to get the best scores you still need fast ram.

my ram is cheap team elite, and the boards max at 350 (more or less) not the cu nor ram, the mobo, but i got it 'cause i need a m-atx mobo

I've seen various reviews showing that RAM running at 1000MHz, or close to it, so I wouldn't think the RAM would hold you back too much, unless the Elites really are the very very crap versions of the Xtreems.

Unless you have them on a divider, then that should be the case, yah.
My board, when flashed to an Ultra BIOS (works fine actually, apart from missing a few features...) lets the memory be on a divider, either faster than the FSB, or slower (had options for CPU/RAM: 200/233, 200/266 and 200/300 or something like that and of course, slower RAM speeds too), so it might be an idea to see if you can get the RAM running at a higher FSB speed relative to CPU. Let's you check its capabilities too, heh.
