This is now the best bang for the buck period and I would have said it was a 4000+ x2 or 3600x2 but not at this price wow. God I hate myself I feel the sweet pull of the darkside but I think I can resist because I'm not up for a rebuild lol. The 4000+ 99.00 and 3600+ 65.00 are still very good chips. I just shoot for performance. whos to ay AMD isn't the dark side and they tricked you like they tricked Anakin with temptations of power at easily accesible routes..lol.. sounds like the dark side to me... :laugh:

The darkside is full of temptation and raw power, but it's pulling on me a week too late I've already got a Brisbane for 65.00 running at 3.0ghz. At that time this chip was 169.00. how things change. This little Brisbane beats my old Opteron 170 at 3.1 ghz with Redline DDR 400 running at DDR 540 by about 50 points in the scientific marks 2.0 so I can't complain, however, at that price 119.00, I would now, ummmm ,ooops, Would not have bought it anyway. Atleast thats what I'm gonna say . My God I hope AMD comes out with the new AM2 chips soon or it's going down!!!!!!

sweet deal. Im sure AMDs new stuff will be amazing. But kudos to Intel for finally redesigning the architecture from the ground up. It will really be sweet when they finally copy full AMd and go with integrated memory architecture on the cpu and get rid of FSB

The processor deals are insane right now. No matter if you choose Intel or AMD or Intel, you can get so much more for your money that you could even six months ago. This is especially true if you overclock. My E6300 was $170, then yesterday I bought a E6420 with a free copy of Supreme Commander for $194 including free shipping at clubit! These prices make it so easy to keep playing with new stuff.

you can see AMDs plan kind of worked, They managed to make intel cheaper by dropping their prices, now intel is not proffiting as much. AMDs are less expensive to build?

I am still very happy with my Brisbane 3600+ X2 for $65.
I am going to do a full upgrade soon and this was just to hold me over for Q1 of next year.
So for people like me, the X2 3600+ is still the best bet since you want good performance, but dont want to spend too much.
Plus, nothing can beat the TForce 550 board for $75

lol, now days motherboards are cheaper then CPUs! CPU is supposed to be the most expensive thing on a computer!

Yea I could of have gotten a cheaper mobo, but I wanted the 4 RAM slots and the OC capabilities of this board

Plus I am not a fan of Micro ATX boards.

Anyways, the most expensive part nowadays is easily the GPU (hands down) for average people.
I mean they do still have the $1000 processors around
