My friend got these boards both asus. One is x38 with ddr2 ram slots and p35 with dd3 ram slots. Both s775. He's cpu is Q6700.

Are you sure. That P35 motherboard uses DDR2. The x38 board is the better board in other departments such as power delivery and the chipset itself.

So if you plan on using dual graphics cards, I'd go with the x38 board, if not I'd go with the P35.
