This will be interesting if they use it to ax 2011-v4. That will be a very short lived product line which is not like Intel for HEDT. I am almost curious if the will offer 3647 side by side with 20111-V4.
Isn't the next HEDT socket using Skylake X supposed to be LGA2066, not another revision of 2011?

If WCCF can be trusted...

The socket will only be available on the server front so gaming folks will have to wait for Skylake-X series to hit the market. The new Skylake-X series will also feature a new socket, known as LGA 2066. This platform will support chips with up to 10 cores. More details on Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X processors can be found here.

Socket P (3647) is currently supporting the Phi x200. I don't know if it will be re-used for HEDT or not, but here it is either way:

Xeon 'Gold'? What the literal hell, Intel?

What's next, Core i7 Platinum, Core i5 Blue Coral, and Pentium Emerald Edition?

Seriously would expect this from AMD, not Intel.

Edit: Just read through the comments, and sigh...
