Is there a reason it has to be the stock cooler?

There are some things you should watch out for.

First is that there are at least 2 different 1155/1156 coolers, you want to make sure you get a cooler designed for the i5/i7 700/800/2500/2600 series. The lower end processors used a weaker heatsink that likely won't be able to cope with an i7-875k.

Second, the i7-875k is a hot processor, relative to other 1156 processors. When I had an 870 in my rig running the exact same voltage and stock clocks, the 875k under load was 5-8°C hotter, with the TRUE, so I don't even know if I'd trust a stock cooler with an 875k.

My i7-875k never came with a stock heatsink or fan just the cpu in the box, it has always been on CoolIt. What i want to do is put everything back to stock on the gigabyte p55-ud6c Socket LGA1156 and give it to my neighbor. so your right i need the higher end one wouldn't want the cpu to fry lol

Yeah, they didn't come with heatsinks(mine didn't either). The higher end stock heatsink should work, but it might run the fan a little louder than usual(oh well).
