As much as we love teasers of new products, it's frustrating when said teasers give away zero information about the actual product and that is sadly what Intel's first Arc video manages to do. The only conclusion we can draw is that the in-game footage, at least in some games, was recorded at 1440p, as the video was uploaded in 1440p rather than 1080p.

The games being showcased are Riders Republic, Age of Empires IV, Back 4 Blood, Rift Breaker, Hitman III and Arcadegeddon. No frame rates are being displayed and only a few games have any comments to go with the footage. Rift Breaker for example, has a notification saying it's using AI-enhanced upscaling and Hitman III is supposed to be using "next-gen graphics with ray tracing" although no obvious ray tracing effects are noticed in the three second clip. The end of the video shows off a rendered PC and laptop, both with Intel ARC displayed on them, suggesting that Intel hasn't decided if it's Arc or ARC that its new graphics cards are going to be called. At least the Q1 2022 date gives us an idea on when some more information should be revealed.

It would be so funny if Intel GPUs were actually available to buy. I don't know how this could happen, I just think it would be funny if it did.

Are we at least certain the game footage is running on a real ARC GPU and not on, an Nvidia or AMD? Probably not.

Another piece of Intel dGPU news that just reminds me they were showcasing their dGPU running Destiny 2 at CES in January 2018 for imminent launch to compete against the Geforce 1050Ti and 1060.

They've somehow cocked up so badly that we're still waiting for that imminent launch three years later.

I like the rendered case with the HUD on the side glass panel.
Neat idea.
So silly that case manufacturers haven't really done this that much, and in the examples where they have done it, it's not been a good implementation. With the prevalence of tempered glass side panels in modern cases, it really is a no brainer.

Raja magic

I'm sure Raja thinks his card is as fast as a 2060 so i'm sure that's what the "simulated" system is running.

It's like they're stuck in an infinite time loop, "Intel teases/announces XYZ about their GPUs" - > Nothing is released - > "Intel teases/announces XYZ about their GPUs".

By the way, we've now had 2 generations of GPUs from AMD and Nvidia released since Intel announced they're gonna make discreet GPUs and I am still to believe they're gonna be competitive ?

You were expecting them to release something a week after they announced they've started working on it?
There was never a release date for any products, just vague marketing announcements.

There was a specific time window that you can nail Intel down to though:

When Intel says they're going to release a GTX 1060 competitor, that implies that it would be launched whilst the 1060 was still on sale. You can't compete with a 1060 if the 1060 isn't available to compete against any more. The 1060 went EOL in January 2019 and stocks of cards would have dried up by mid-year.

As much as I love teasers , Intel have worn the word teaser out.

Makes me wonder should I just start looking for a car now, I just got one but if the hear about, look at, buy circle is three f#@£ng years I better get on it.

@bug Intel should have kept their PR at bay then because they're wearing out the interest of some with this unicorn carrot bullshit.

Intel dGPU announcements/news are just memes now. It's been a joke for so long everyone's patience wore thin long ago.

Moving on from the "GTX 1060 competitor" of 2019, I remember Intel saying that they were targeting a 3070 at CES 2021 11 months ago. The 3070 is 11 months older, having since received it's mid-lifecycle refresh (the 3070Ti) and will likely be superseded by the 4070 in about 6-9 months from now.

Well the 2060 was just re-released, maybe the 1060 is next on the comeback tour ;)
