This is more of a tech-support related post, but I didn't see anything for general tech support.
Anyway, I've noticed that in several games, I'll get a sudden drop in my FPS. In EVE Online, I will be running a smooth 70+ FPS, but about every 5-10 mins, my FPS will drop down to below 20 for about 5 seconds, then go back up to 70+. As you can imagine, it gets extremely annoying at times. This also happens in other games, like TrackMania: United (albeit not as often).
I've tried just about everything I can think of. I have all extraneous processes and services turned off, my graphics drivers are up-to-date. I remember FEAR had a problem with HID devices, so I tried turning those off, but that didn't help either.
Anyone have any ideas?
