Intermittent "single" USB port issue

Comm between usb ports and fsb/system bus is instable due to ram speed.

That tells me the ram oc is not entirely stable.

What settings are you using to get 2900 MHz?

I was using 2900 MHz at 15-15-15-35 2T at 1.25V. It should be stable right? Or am I missing something?

What settings in the bios were you using to reach 2900, by the way reference other ram modules from the manufacturer of yours to see what timings and voltage are needed.

I set the OC Mode to Manual. Set DRAM frequency to 2900 MHz, set the voltage to 1.25V (default is 1.2V) and set the timings manually to 15-15-15-35 2T. All in BIOS.
I checked reviews of the exact same kit and took reference. Even managed to reach 3000 MHz and 3100 MHz. Everything seemed stable, I could run benchmarks and even play games but it could not pass 5 loops of IntelBurnTest with 16 GB memory. That told me that it was not fully stable. But at 2900 MHz, it was fully stable. No game crashed, IBT, Memtest all passed. Except for this USB issue. Now I am running at 2800 MHz keeping the timings same.

if your Port is dying use caution, ive had a similar issue (posted here on TPU a year or so ago) the little plastic piece actually fell out in my case. be wary of using that port , mine had "other issues" as well as intermittent connectivity. the other issues being electrical based. afaik it ruined a usb stick of mine, and a shittier one i didnt care about after the first one. ive gotten New front panels from case manufacturers several times in the past...reach out to Corsair, they may send You the assembly to replace it.

Yes. My BIOS is at latest. Version 3401.

Thanks for the input. However, I doubt it to be a front panel issue since the issue is not there anymore after I reduced the memory overclock. There is no PCB in the front panel. Just direct wires running from the board to the port based on the assembly.
