internet requirments for bf2142 server

What internet speed do u need for a bf2142 server. Just wondering because our clan is wondering what it would need and how much it would cost.

While I'd like to say that all games played over the internet have a set standard or minimum, I cannot, because they are coded differently.

BF2/2142 is consistent and stable + optimized compared to some of it's online counterparts.

If you're speaking about from a small business or home style master server, than T1 would be optimal. Although a solid 6mb+ fiber connection should be sufficient, depending on what OS/setup the gateway or server system(s) are running.

Use of a linux box or similar to run the server would net better results.

ok thanx but just wondering about how much would a 6mb+ firber cost? in american dollors plz

Err.. I don't know. You need the connection first. Are you asking strictly about the server, because the point was that with a good internet connection, the linux/gateway(not the company lol) box would be the server.

Unless it's business related, most internet connection speeds are at the mercy of your local ISPs and the surrounding geography. You'll have to find your local cable company and ask their speed/price packages.
