My father has an Iomega Zip Drive 100 IDE that was manufactured on 2001. It's been installed since 2009 on a GA-790XTA-UD4P and it isn't detected by bios. I can't remember if it was working after the upgrade from Sempron to Phenom II back on 2009, I can't recall.

Today I noticed it, that the green button led stays switched on always and the drive isn't recognized at all.

No jumper attached. And I want to ask if the jumper is needed for such an old drive connected alone to the IDE slot.

16 years is pretty old for one of those things, They're built like floppy drives, dust etc can get in 'em. Were pretty neat when new. I still have 6 or so, still sealed 'Sony' brand 100m sized disks & a few internal drives & one usb drive, , ,

(just found another ½ dozen 'new' Maxell Z -100's)

It's dead, I changed the IDE cables and also tested it with the external IDE to usb case adapter and it doesn't works.
My father told me that it's been 4 years since last time used it.
So, the drive was working for 12 years. It was a backup device for company management software.
