I've got a Zune HD, I like it more than an iPod touch. The only thing the iPod has for it is the whole "app" thing which doesn't help you listen to music. It's got more little things like a stopwatch and crap like that. But if you want something that plays music with media capabilities, an awesome program (much better than iTunes) and a much slicker interface, get the Zune HD.

the ipod is more solid and has better apps, but the HD does have alot of expandability.

The iPod touch (I bought the now discontinued 16GB 2nd Generation model in April 2009) is more of a portable computer. It has apps for just about everything, nearly full web browser, calculator, youtube viewer, contact book, you name it. It also has iTunes and the App store built right in it too, so if you want to download a new song, all you need is a WiFi connection. I'm not an Apple fanboi by any means, but the iPod is simple and easy to use. The Zune HD is more of a music and movie machine, with little app support currently. It does surpass the iPod in the fact that it has HDMI output and an HD FM radio built right in. It all boils down to what you are using it for. The iPod is a pocket computer/game machine, and the Zune is really only a fancy portable media player.

iPod Touch because of the never ending supply of apps and all around niceness. You could probably get a used 2nd gen pretty cheap now that the 3rd gens are out (hardly any difference between them).

I had a Zune and Ipod over the past year, and my vote would go to the HD. Maybe im just being a bit anti apple when I say that, but it really is a solid piece (the HD).

the touch has more apps, but then again it's been out for three years and has three refreshes (3rd gen) on the zune hd. the touch didn't have 75000 apps when it was first released

however the touch does have a better web browser, with a youtube app
