Is 31.5'' good size for 2560x1440 ?

Hi, TechPowerUp forum!

I'm looking for a new monitor budget is approximately ~350€. I'm not really sure if this monitor size per resolution will be good enough ?

It will be used for video editing, photoshop and slight gaming GTA 5, World of Tanks and maybe PUBG in future... So i'm probably need IPS screen with no overshoot ghosting 60-75hz refresh rate maybe someone can recommend some good screens there are many of them in market in this price point. Thanks!!!!!!!

short answer: yes ...

long : my own screen is is mighty fine for all games i play (in common with you World of Tank): Medion Erazer X58222 32" IPS 2560x1440 (2880x1620) 8ms (5ms overdrive) 60hz (can do 75hz easily ) a lot of metal used in his construction, the only cons i see is the height is fixed but that's not an issue for me tho.

and it's around 350€ (i paid 299chf tho it was a bit cheaper in my country than the general price seen around the web)

I'm in love with my LG 34" Ultrawide (see my specs). If I could change anything, it would be a slightly larger pixel pitch, it's a little small for native windows, but livable. I can fit 3 browsers or docs side by side. Fantastic colors and gaming is a pure joy with Freesync.

What about ViewSonic monitors quality it's good ?

Seems to be this VX3211-2K-MHD monitor is damn good deal for only 280€ in my country.

I game at 1440p 23.8" 165hz, and I prefer it to my 27" 1440p 120hz, it really comes down to preference at the end of the day.

games look gorgeous almost 4k level, without the performance hit, and 164hz gsync = buttery smooth. main reason I bought it was $340 on sale... manufacture date 2018 and latest revision, even though its TN it looks really good... once you calibrate it.

Seems to be this VX3211-2K-MHD monitor is damn good deal for only 280€ in my country.

seems like a good alternative, and 3ms OD instead of 5 like mine, IPS too ... and seems to be able to do 75hz (and closer to what i have paid for my X58222) also the bezel looks kinda alike just the back looks less at my taste than my actual.

another difference i think it wouldn't be able to do 3k like mine (2880x1620 is almost 3k and my 1070 struggle to get above 80fps hence why 75hz is fine ) WOT i keep it at 1440p 60hz since all details to the max has a variance between 55 and 60 fps

you have a 1080Ti well if the OP has a 1070 like me .... above 75hz would do nothing much ... and Gsync well ... i dropped the 144hz Gsync option to spare 110chf well my 1070 wouldn't handle it either way ... so 409chf or 299chf the choice was decided by gimmick less (personal opinion but efficiency taken in account )

I would prefer it to my 27".

i had a 27" 1080p 1ms 60hz TN and a 32" TV 1080p 12ms 60hz strangely enough i was always on the 32" but in 1080p indeed i would have preferred my 27" that's mainly why i took the 32" 1440p

even at 5ms 1440p75 it's quite a blast compared to the 2 previous i used, i had seen 4K on 27 and 32" ... but well .... single 1070

For me is 1080 from 21 to 24" max , 1440p or 1600p from 27 to max 30 and 4k from 40 and beyond .
Mine is 4k 43".

Bigger screen has slightly smaller pixel size at least on paper and distance to smaller screen 23.8'' definitely will be closer than bigger screen like 31.5''.

Capitan how can it be that 24'' inch screen is usable and 31.5'' inch screen is not at smaller pixel size and bigger distance between eyes and screen.

Personally, I would say no. 1440p should be perfect for 27-inch screen.

Because ona 31,5 or 32 " you are stretching those 1440p .
We are not talking about a TV.
A monitor is something very different .
This is why some Company are making 28" and over 4k monitors.
4k in my research before getting mine is good when you go above 32" and better over 40".
You have to consider the distance of use from the monitor too.
If you wanna stay close on a 4k 40" monitor you don't see what you are suppose to.
Same goes for 1080p on 27" where does not belong in the PC Monitor group.
But is my opinion and experience of use.
