Is 86c temps normal in an RTX 2070 gaming cube such as...

I recently bought a "Lenovo Legion C730" gaming cube that consists of an RTX 2070 gpu and i7 9700k cpu.

And I was wondering if having 86c temps on 95-100 gpu work load is safe in a gaming cube such as the c730?

I've read people saying that 85-86c is normal but not ideal for such a gpu.

I want some suggestions if I should return this product and just build a pc from scratch or of someone can verify that this is safe?

I've read reviews saying that the c730 is actually a good product, but also noticed that most of these reviews are for the mid-range gpus such as the GTX 1060 or lower.

I also noticed that their seems to be a slight burn smell(or maybe just my imagination)but not sure if this is just normal or something to worry about in a new product?

Suggestions would be appreciated!

If your case looks like this then yes temps are going to be pretty terrible. I would also be worried about temps of other components if your gpu is hitting that.
The case basically just has one 80mm ish fan trying to exhaust heat on top of being extremely small. To me it looks more suited for an APU.

I would maybe try swapping in a noctua 80mm fan and make sure the top is as unobstructed as possible.
I would also try a custom profile in Msi Afterburner on the gpu.

As far as if it is normal or not it's hard to tell none of the reviews of the version with a 1060 list temperatures conveniently as far as I can find. I couldn't find a review of the version with the 2070 but if it is a blower 2070 84c is pretty normal so in a case that small 86 would make a lot of sense.

Unfortunately that is the nature of the beast.... Youre packing a high performance hardware inside a compact case that has very little in the way of airflow

Honestly I wouldnt worry too much unless the warranty is too short for your liking. It seems like a high end product from a company whose reputation is based on running hot components reliably. I have (had) a 10 year old Lenovo T400 with a Radeon 3470 card constantly over 85C. My friend still plays Dota 2 on it and the card throttles and lags every game due to heat and it still survives. 86C is very hot, but if it starts to get unsafe the card will drop its clock speed when necessary (Please correct me if im wrong). I dont think Lenovo would send a new product to market without sufficient testing and controls in place to make sure there arent many RMA's, and with a new product, reliability in order to build loyal customers.

And then there are some customers who think their products are trash.

::EDIT::

Have a look at this video here - apparently you can add more fans and also upgrade the ones you currently have. I know its the C530 model, but in all honesty the cases look exactly the same as each other.

I hated that laptop actually at first. It was expensive but looked cheap. I wanted a HP Pavillion but it cost more. Its the only Lenovo product that ive owned. The hard drive crashed after a few years so took it back to where I purchased it expecting to pay for a new one. The laptop had a one year warranty which had long past but it was replaced with a SSD at no cost. I still use the SSD in my main PC. I will admit that I might be favourable to Lenovos in general after the service I received.
