It just depends on the games and settings you play.
at the end of the day games are just software apps, look up the hardware you need to run the app at the settings & performance you want. Plenty of newly released games like BG3 and Diablo IV will run with no issue with a card like the 2070 super at 1440p very high to ultra settings. I never understood why people look at ultra settings at some crappy game they have no intention of playing but that's the barometer for their PC gaming needs yet you ask them what games they play and it's " I just play DOTA and Counter Strike with my friends"

The 16GB version of the 4060ti is a great sweetspot card for 1440p
at full price its an awful card, it offers little to no benefit in avg or high FPS in most games while its one saving grace is a higher floor in lows which you can overcome by adjusting settings if you have the 8GB version. At equal price of a 8GB its a no brainer

Save up some cash, buy a 4090 and be done with it.
better yet just steal one so this thread can end

Sometimes i just wanna se a game(s),gpu(s) being tested at either high setting (not always ultra) or setting that gives min 144 fps

I do most of my games above 100 fps if possible, therefor ultra isn't in now way important to me.

Only not super old game that runs super even with ray tracing on is doom eternal at i guess medium settings.

I think i will go for a rx 7700 xt over a rtx 4060 ti 16gb and to save some money compared to what a rtx 4070 costs + gain performance over a rx 7600 xt 8,16gb, 7800 xt 16gb i might not use more than 12gb for many years, high on a 7700 xt = same fps as very high on 7800 xt, not a big deal, difference

Not bad

Im still considering a rx 7800 xt or rx 7900 gre do to more vram but also the gpu might have the grunt to use more than 12gb vram in games like Horizon zero dawn, just have to deside how much i wanna pay and what cards are in the range and how much noisy the card is (the hellhound card is one of the most silent higher tier 7000 card)

I wouldn't buy these. Better wait for the new RDNA 4 coming sooner or later, maybe this year in October - December timeframe.

MLID says don't wait, but there is no choice - just wait.

RDNA 5 is what AMD is really focused on – but Team Red will still have to make RDNA 4 GPUs work

RX 7900GRE has insane value if you can afford it, if you can't then RX 7700 XT, regardless you will have a cpu bottleneck with ether of the cards I would highly suggest investing into X3D chip first, you dont need to change to AM5 also. I will also be building new AM4 build with Ryzen 7 5700 X3D but its going to take me a bit to get everything. Hope this helps you.

AMD is not going to push it out right now they dont need to, if they don't change there mind about it by Q4, it not coming out this year, besides if you wait every time when something is about to get released you never build that pc. In other words you just doing a waiting game and not building the pc.

I am only against buying failed products such as the GRE which is an embarrassment. It's your money, of course...

Didi you watch my video in #133 ?

According to this video a rx 6800 xt (rx 7800 xt sadly) is kind of a sweetspot where it's not terrible with a rx 7900 xtx

Sadly, since a rx 7800 xt is just (only) a few fps faster, also in minimum fps

What? RX 7900 GRE has literally the best value on the market. I mean you could spend more money for nVidia card and get 0% more performance. Rey Tracing is so irrelevant, it just hammers you cpu and gpu, you play on lower frame rates, cos you want reflections and little bit better lighting, it's so not worth it. Having higher FPS and better frame time is going to give you so much better experience.

Not at all in DOOM Eternal

My settings might not be higher than medium or high (settings goes beyond normal ultra) but i get over 100 fps with ray tracing on and a rtx 3060 12gb and a stock ryzen 5 5600

2 tier higher graphics and same fps or 1 tier higher + 50% more fps would be nice (enhance the experience)

Why can't all games be as easy to drive, play as DOOM Eternal

Yeah those benchmarks are accurate but they are pre AMD unlocking the memory bandwidth on RX 7900 GRE. You should check that out.

I just run ray tracing in DOOM Eternal because it doesn't do much negative for the perfomance other than that game i don't use it

In borderlands i did run PhysX that did something relative to not using it as seen here

What We Learned
The Radeon RX 7900 GRE has always been a bit of an odd product, and effectively re-launching it today for global consumption at $550 doesn't make it any less odd. The gap between the 7800 XT and 7900 XT has never really made sense; even today, the 7900 XT costs almost 50% more, leaving a rather large $230 gap. It would seem AMD was hoping to fill that gap with the 7900 GRE.
However, the GRE is just too similar to the 7800 XT in terms of performance and would really benefit from faster memory to fully leverage those extra cores. Speaking of which, memory overclocking is almost entirely restricted on the GRE, as AMD only allows the frequency to be increased by a maximum of 3% to 2,316 MHz, resulting in a throughput of 18.5 Gbps.
When compared to the 7800 XT, you're also getting the same 16 GB VRAM buffer, so there's nothing extra on offer with the GRE, meaning for most, the $500 7800 XT is going to offer more value.

How about a review from someone other than Techspot/Steve Walton? Steve is well known for being biased not utilizing objectivity and impartiality.

A couple of TPU's reviews;
People would be much better served taking W1zzard's info over Steve's every day of the week.

Do to power consumption and the experince with my rtx 3060 being much more stable than a xfx rx 6700 xt i had

I ordered based on halv an hour to 45 min live chat an ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 EVO 12GB

2 fans, no need for a gpu bracket, just below 200 watt gaming peaking just under 240 watt (compared to 250-270 watt peaking at 350 watt for ASUS Radeon RX 7800 XT TUF), im not taking a chance to get 4 gb more vram to get a 7000 card as unstable in the long run as my rx 6700 xt (had my xfx rx 6700 xt for about 1½ years before i got sick of a not 100% stable card and got a rtx 3060 12gb)

What made you pick Asus card? Why not a ZOTAC card?
