If it plays the games YOU play..... at the clocks YOU have set........ then it is stable :toast:

BS.

thats like saying your car is mechanically sound because it works fine upto 20KM/h, but you know that if you reach 21 the engine will overheat and blow up.

if its not stable... its not stable. its like never running any games at all, just CPU-Z and claiming to have an awesome overclock... grats, but if you cant do anything you want with it, whats the point?

Furmark is the most demanding thing there is for a GPU. its unlikely any game will ever reach that kind of load. However its not impossible, and i like to know my system CAN handle such a load, should it ever need to.

For example, what if a video encoder with good hardware acceleration comes out, and it DOES load it to levels furmark does due to extra heavy GPU usage? all of a sudden your 'stable' OC isnt good enough any more.

To me, anything but stable in every test is just asking for trouble... and i see a lot of users who claim 'this is good enough' start help threads a few weeks later 'it cant be unstable! it works in crysis, why wouldnt it work in this game!?' and so on.

Yet to meet a game that stresses more than Furmark even if your game is running 100% furmark runs it way hotter.

It's good to test once with it sure to get some idea but used to much your going fck some thing up with it sooner or later and ya better of with W1z's GPUtool anyways. Find the max with it back of some and your set even more so if done in summer time as a lot of people fail to remember what time of the year they did the overclock hence why i like doing mine in summer time.
