Is GeForce GTX 1070 Gaming X 8G worth to buy?

Greetings,

I'm using Asus R7 265 DirectCU II GDDR5 2GB 256Bit AMD Radeon DX11.2 now, but I want to change it. Because I can't play games with good quality. For example; For Honor (played on beta), Conan Exiles, (I believe that I can't play Ghost Recon: Wildlands also), and more games are on the way; Mass Effect Andromeda etc. I want to play these games in good quality. I'm a Total War games fun but I can't even play new Total War games with High or Ultra quality.

So I decided to change the graphic card. What you think about GeForce GTX 1070 Gaming X 8G (website link)?

it's a pretty solid card for the price (if you can find it at a decent price: go for it)

i settled for the lesser Armor model which is, by many aspect, not that much inferior to the gaming X

i don't OC it beyond what MSI already give as factory and i have yet to find a game that need more than that (1080p and ultra most of the time )

not really ... even a single GTX 1080 is not "great for 4K" but 4K is not really a thing ... or is it? (next gen maybe )

1070's are more (armor? ) for up to 1440p, at last i aim for a 1440p 144hz as next monitor ... 4K can wait.

well sure it is stronger than a R7 265, i came from a R9 290 to a GTX 980 and then that 1070, as i said top notch card, can even reach GTX1080 perf range if clocked right (although not really needed)

"Top notch". Yes, the card looks very good. And its price is 617 USD in my country. I think I can look for this.

Overpriced is what I think of it

unless you can get it at a right price, which is mainly why i took the Armor model because it was under 500chf/505.56$

to me the high end custom models are overpriced (and even more in the case of the Founder Ed.)

Another option is GTX 980Ti. Performance is pretty much the same as GTX 1070 and costs far less. I just went for it myself as i couldn't get 1070 for a reasonable price.

It's out of stock. I can't find it (I don't searched more. Just looked some online stores.). But I think I will buy GeForce GTX 1070 Gaming X 8G. Not now of course.

I think the better deal is the Giga GV-N1070WF20C-8GD, which is on sale at Newegg right now for $370, $50 less than MSI's Gaming X. It doesn't have a 1607 base clock setting, but it's factory OCed to 1582, which is pretty close.

Yes. It's cheap than GeForce GTX 1070 Gaming X 8G. But unfortunately Newegg don't ship to Istanbul, Turkey. I love that site but they don't ship products, so I'm just looking at the products on the site.

not really ... Giga is one of the brand with a lot of 10XX issues (alongside ASUS as far as i've seen) MSI on the other hand ... is pretty much flawless, at last for mine and for the Gaming X of @P4-630

thought ... 370$ for a 1070 ... that's dreamy ... the cheapest where i live is 405chf/408.06$, talk about favoritism... and to say i am under the threshold of poverty by any Swiss revenue standard ... i feel refreshed every time i look at my rig ... i maybe make not much $$$ but i still manage

Lol. If we think from your perspective, yes. But its price is not stabile. Because USD and EUR's rate is always changing. You know, exchange difference between currencies. For example, I bought very expensive graphic card (for me of course) and I will pay its debt in installments for 6 months. USD or EUR is very strong against Turkish Lira for now. So for this reason we can't buy expensive products a lot from online stores which uses USD and EUR currency.

I also bought an iPad Mini 2 for business. So there is one more product that i have to pay. lol

But it's fine. We are living to gain money (at least we can't change that for now), and we're buying good stuffs with that. Of course we have to pay it.

I use After Burner with a custom fan profile, my card's fans are spinning around 1000rpm at idle to keep it running at a cool 26c in a 21c livingroom. (don't hear them spinning)
I recommend using After Burner for a custom fan profile so it runs cooler than it would without.

My card goes up to about 60c during benchmarking with OC.

I've used my msi 1070 gaming X card for about a week and I am in love with it. Got it for 400$ ( 4000 swedish kronor ) brand new. Totally worth it
TBH the fps difference between 1070 and 1080 is not that big, so paying 3-4 hundred dollars more for 1080 is a big no for me.
