I'm curious that is it OK to use a different -ns rated BIOS (same core, same mem chip manufacturer, different -ns rating) on a card that has a slower -ns RAM chips.. I've got a Sapphire 9550 128bit/128MB card with Samsung 5ns chips and I wonder will a Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro BIOS (for Samsung 2.8ns mem chips) works? I can run the card at 440MHz for core and 230MHz x 2 for the vRAM.. I'm planning to edit the BIOS and run the RAM at a slower speed.. will my card work with a BIOS that is meant for a higher -ns RAMs?

it probably wont in your case .. your memory is tsop the 2.8 is bga .. i would guess there's more differences than just the packaging .. on the other hand 2.8 <-> 3.0 or 4.0 <-> 5.0 should be pretty fine
