Is it possible to flash the bios of a "non fake" video card with a "fake" video card?

Hi everyone, some time ago I bought a video card on a website, thinking it was a gtx 960 4 gb ram unfortunately, but I discovered later that it was a "fake" video card and I would like to know if it is possible to flash the bios of a "not fake" video card on this video card that I bought at the time (if it were also the bios of a gtx 450/550 it would be more than good for what I have to do)

Yes but you need to verify what bios is on the card, so get gpu-z and get a screenshot of it. Then pull the heatsink and carefully clean the gpu die and ram chips Get a pic of the gpu die and the ram chips on front and back of card.

Post screenshot and pics here

You will need a chip programmer to do so. CH341A or equivalent. If you get that one, you want the one with the clip to clip onto the bios chip. They're about $8-$10 at aliexpress or amazon.

There is a version of NVflash that disables certificates

Hi, these are pictures of my "fake" GTX 960 video card. Searching the forum I found that the same video card was also passed off as a GTX 1050.

I wanted to ask a few things before being able to flash the bios

1- how can I safely identify which video card is it?

2 - if I used firmware from a "real" GTX 960 ... would this work or should I use firmware from an older video card (like a GTX 550)?

thanks for all the help you can give me

Most likely a GTS 450 like almost every fake card out there (a GTX 550 Ti would have six memory chips). Post a GPU-Z screenshot too.

GF116 is surely 450GTS or 550, 550Ti, depends on what memory is on the card if gddr5 or ddr3...

Its Fermi for sure, not a 750 or 960.

As requested I have now published the images of GPU-Z and I think it is a GTS 450

I see the stenciling was removed.

Are all the ram chips on the card Samsung? What model or ram so i can determine if they are 1 Gibibit, or 2, 4, 8

i checked the video card and saw that there are 8 samsung memory chips k4g10325fe-hc04 4 chips per side

Your ram chips are 1 Gbit each or 0.125 GByte x8 makes it a 1GByte Card

Your bios version 70.26.26.00.01 came from an Asus branded 450 GTS 1GB.

Verified 450 GTS Bios

Unverified bios, just ensure any bios you try has 1 VGA, 1 HDM1, 1 DVI port with Samsung Memory in the details.

550 Ti

Use this tool to flash.

Or this one

Open the tools in a Command prompt with Administrator Privileges/Rights.

Typing nvflash /? or -? Get you the list of commands

do I have to install the card to flash the bios ... or can I try with an eeprom programmer?
You can use the flash utility with the card installed, or a spi flasher with the card not installed, your choice.

I don't believe nvflash with the certificates disabled works on these cards. Reason being you have to change the device id. Has there been any anecdotal evidence that these cards can be flashed without a chip programmer?

since I could not flash with the program I decided to use an eeprom programmer and I used some of the firmware of the asus and dell nvidia that were in the links posted above ... but every time I flash the video card with these bios the result is what you see in the picture ... does anyone have any idea how I can fix it?
