Is it reference design?

Hey guys, im looking at purchasing an MSI Radeon HD7970 3GB Twin Frozr III OC Boost Edition, it can be found here: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=23160

My question is, does this card use a reference PCB? Will it be compatible with a radeon 79x0 series GPU waterblock? Thank you!

IIRC correctly it does have a reference 7970 PCB.

IIRC means: If I Recall Correctly doesn't it (I'm terrible at internet acronyms lol) If it does stand for that, then awsome I think I might get it

It has a lower mhz rate, whilst i might get it if i need to I would prefer a card with 1000mhz+

It has a lower mhz rate, whilst i might get it if i need to I would prefer a card with 1000mhz+

Reference 7970s can be flashed to Ghz Editions by updating the bios.

Also if you are watercooling it you can just overclock it yourself.

Some reference cards out clock the non reference cards. I just picked up a gigabyte 7970 ref card and it does quite well on stock volts. 1150/1500 and I have not tried for more.
