is my 6800ultra broken?

hey guyzz
i gotta big problem
while playing gamez like tomb raider legend, there are some white pixels.
i never had that problem bevore
temps are okay (nvidia shows 80°C and everest 69°C @load)
but now:

is my 6800 ultra (form XFX) broken?
the whole system:
amd athlon 64 3000+
1gb 400 ddr ram
asus a8ne

plz help!

95% of videocard problems on videocards that have not been overclocked to the extreme is a powersupply problem.

Make sure that pixel pattern doesn't show up in other apps...if it does, you might have some dead pixels on your monitor. Otherwise, it looks like your card might be either hosed or too hot. I just replaced my 6800 (mine was a gt) and mine never went over 71C, so you might check and make sure the heatsink isnt clogged, as some of the 6800 coolers with the aluminum plate over the heatsink liked to collect dust.

Erm...hate to break it to you but 80c is NOT ok.. the core is overheating, quite badly. At very least remove your stock cooler, clean off the stock thermal crap and invest in some AS Ceramique. If you have the eye and hand for it also lap the base of the stock cooler with course and fine grit sandpaper to a smooth near mirror finish. This could bring temps down as much as 15-20c, no joke.
