Is my GPU ok?

So basically i bought a new gpu a gtx 1060 6gb and it needs an 8 pin cable, unfortunately my psu doesn't have any so i use a converter for 2 molex to 8 pin but i only use one of it, and whenever i tried to open a game it suddenly lost its signal to my monitor.

Is there anything i can do to fix this issue (ps. My psu is a 450w up to 500w max)
