Hello everyone, i don´t no if it´s the correct place to post this but i need help from people here.
I have an Asus Strix GTX 980 Ti, and from around 2 weeks ago, she starts going to blackj screen on Nvidia drivers. But works ok in Windows Safe Mode and in Windows native drivers.
Just on windows Native drivers shows on then device manager the Error 43.
I tried many things from the people here like the DDU process, try another Bios, even the baking process, and all of them without luck.
Did anyone please can tell me if was passing trough something identical and solve it? If yes, how was?
Or my Graphics Card is dead?
Anyone knows if there is any company that could repair it, if its the case?
The Graphics Card has 3 years old only, and it was very expensive (£680) in that time.
I leave here a print of the GPU-Z. I don´t understand much of this but, thers is camps showing unknown, and 0Mzh when before was having values....maybe it´s really dead? or is just because dosen´t have the drivers totally working on it?
Thank you everyone.

If you google error 43 it says either a bad device or a bad driver. Have you tried using an older driver to see if the issue goes away?
Also if flashing the bios, you have to clean out and reinstall drivers for things to function properly.

If drivers/software solutions don't fix this, remove the card from the system, reboot once on your IGP. Uninstall Nvidia drivers. Dust out the card, check for any visible problems on bottom of PCB (because why not). Also check the PCIe connection on the card, it must be spotless, clean if necessary. Blow *dry* air (not from your mouth) through the PCIe slot as well. Reinsert card, clean install Nvidia drivers, try again.

If that doesn't fix it, then a hardware problem is suspect.

Hello, first of all, i want to thak you for the help in here given.
Yes, i tried old drivers, after the flasing bios, clean out with the DDU process, but no luck. After doing that process, get in the windows ok, but when install the drivers old or new the result is the same..Black Screen. After that, force me to reset the PC and don´t get in the windows anymore because after the Asus Logo, when the spinning circle starts, after a few seconds, black screen all the time and dosen´t get in the windows anymore.:(

There is no reason a failing card that worked before is going to work after a BIOS update. That's like fixing your car with a hammer.

Try card in another system, if it does the same try to replace thermal compound. While you do that take pictures of the ram chips and a close up of one so We know what memory is on the card.

Your gpu-z results are from not having drivers installed.

We need to get you back to the stock gpu bios.

Please take pictures of the back of the card and post them here.

Physically check the card before you update BIOS. If it has bad contacts somewhere it may bite you in the ass during an update.

Before you do anything else, check the warranty on the card. Here in the US, ASUS has a 3 year warranty on almost everything.

Yeah, unfortunately this is how they die often. It'll work, it just won't accept drivers or anything.

Yes the card disassembled.

If after replacing thermal compound and restoring the bios back to stock, and it still does this the card is dying

I done that as well. Replace the Thermal compound, even before trying other Bios, was in the stock one and..no luck.
So, i should assume that she is dead...:(

Yup thats right, someone knows how to repair them on youtube though but you probably best to get a card and then see how much it would be to repair your card.

There is no reason a failing card that worked before is going to work after a BIOS update. That's like fixing your car with a hammer.

Noticed this and had to comment.
Yes - You can fix one with a hammer, I've done just that before and it also applies to doing some bodywork if you must.
Bodyshops use them all the time. ;)

As for the card, it happens to them all sooner or later if left in service long enough. A possible "Fix" is baking the card but that's temporary at best in most cases, a true reballing of the chip like what's shown above is the solution like it is with a Playstation 3 when it starts acting up. I do not suggest baking unless there is just no other way and even then don't expect too much from it. Oh - Speaking of such I have a reballing station coming to me for such work and a few PS3's I can experiment with to really learn "How" it done. :D

Best bet is simply to replace the card and move on.
Next thing to consider is what to replace it with.

Would that repair cost more than the 1070 is worth considering he had to replace the actual GPU and memory chips?

Would that repair cost more than the 1070 is worth considering he had to replace the actual GPU and memory chips?
For such delicate and skilled work, you would think you would have to pay someone way above the average hourly rate, possibly £30+ an hour? it took 3 hours just to re-ball it so that's £90, possibly another 5-8 hours? (I'm guesstimating here?) for the other work required and yea, you're getting to the point where the cost outweighs the benefit but he's an enthusiast and I'm sure even if it was a cheap £50 GPU he would likely do the same, just.... because lol

Just watched 2 or 3 of his videos, they are really interesting to watch. He is a master at his job. just watch him doing the balls by hand on this gtx 1070 gpu, he has got god like patience.

Mind = blown. This video is pure art.
