Is my GTX 470 getting adequate power with these connectors?

All,

I got a new GTX 470 and came to found out belatedly it came with one PCI-e 2.0 6 pin connector. The one that came with it uses two molex to one 6 pin plug. The other molex to 6 pin connector is an older one I have that has one molex to the 6 pin plug. I am getting enough juice to my GTX 470 with this connector or should I buy another 2 molex to 6 pin plug/connector? Thanks all.

Is it working correctly? Really, the ideal thing to do would be to use the PCI-E cables from your PSU.

Depends on your power supplies rail specs. Single rails should be no problem with your setup, but a double or quad rail psu could be trouble.

It works with these connectors. As I stated, my card only came with one connector and the card requires two.

I have dual rail.

Nothing to worry about then if it works. I stated the ideal way to provide power to the card is not using the adapters at all and using the PCI-E cables from the PSU. If it works, again it's fine.

It doesn't have PCI-E cables.. :ohwell:

Be sure to test you GFX with Furmark to see if the molex to 6pin adapters work properly.

I'll give Furmark a shot, thanks. My PSU doesn't have PCI connectors hence my question.

My framerate seems to have tripled in Halo 2. Doubled in other games. My CPU is holding back performance because the cores aren't syncing right and DCO quit working.
