Is the electriQ 27" 1ms 144hz monitor a good budget option or should I stick to main stream brands.

I'm looking to buy a new monitor for under £200 and I noticed the electriQ 27" on Laptops Direct.

Is this a good idea or is a AOC or BenQ monitor a safer bet and worth the extra £60????

Any advise please.

I've seen them on ebuyer and they have peaked my interest they will likely be using the same oem lcd panels as other branded monitors with the same specs so I personally would have no issue buying one of them on a budget, checkout ebuyers price also as it may be cheaper there.

Edit: seems it's a different brand no? https://www.ebuyer.com/store/Computer/cat/Monitors/EG

Yea seems it is, them electrQ monitors have some specs that shouldnt be available for that kind of money, I may look at them if/when I purchase another monitor.

Be aware that low priced monitors tend to be hand-me-downs from other product/brand lines that didn't make the cut. Be sure to have a solid return policy. This is right in the same category as those early Korean IPS monitors for cheap. Not bad, but the quality can be lacking. (Dead/stuck pixels, poor boards behind the panel, cheaped out power delivery, lacking options etc.)

If you get a good one though, they're a steal.

Never heard of the brand, but I'd steer clear of AOC, their products aren't worth it. Both myself and a friend (in another country) bought one of their 4K screens and had similar issues with them. I had to go through the local consumer rights organisation to get my money back, as AOC refused to admit there was anything wrong with their product, even after sending it back for repair and it still having the same issues.

I have an electriQ 28" 4k TN panel, I got it rather cheap back in 2016/17 (roughly) and I've had no issues with my panel. I would say it was a pretty good deal, if you can get one significantly cheaper than a mainstream brand there's no reason not to go for it - though for £60 more I would rather save the money myself.
