I own g551vw fy212t. I'm wondering what differences are there between these 3 laptops? Such as are there screen quality or webcam differences etc?

Ok does anybody here have one of these laptops please tell me how are the black levels for display? How good the webcam is in lowlight? Compare your asus laptop to my asus laptop. Does your asus laptop have i7 usb type c? Are there any significant differences?

In my previous post I already gave you the links to all 3 of the laptops you mentioned, look at the specs and compare them!!
About the displays, if you really want to compare you need to go to a shop and compare them there.

I want to know if someone personally owns one of these asus laptops.

I was considering buying gl553vw or gl502vm because they have usb type c & better speakers. Does anyone know if these 2 asus laptops have better webcam in low light? Is screen quality still the same as g551vw?

    Umm hello

I have a 551jw it looks the exact same as every other 15" asus 1080p panel. If webcam lighting is a problem for you either turn on some lights or get an external camera.

So my asus fy212t does not have usb type c. I compared my laptop to other asus laptops gl553vw & gl501vm. I did research read reviews the 2 laptops have poor battery life & speakers are mediocre which is disappointing so now I won't consider buying these asus laptops. Now I decided to keep the fy212t even though it's not the most futureproof laptop, no usb type c, but do I really need usb type c in a laptop?

Depends on if you end up using devices that could utilize a Type-C conneciton, but no it isn't necessary unless YOU need it really and that's what any such decision should come down to. We can't tell you what you need for connectivity. The new 3.1/TB3 type-c connectors have their uses, and have a lot of potential bandwidth to use, but in many cases they're not used for the high performance access for many portable users.

I don't use the Type-C connector on my Asus Predator 15 and haven't in the 6+ months I've owned it. I have no devices or cables that use that connection yet. Will I in the future? Sure at some point I will...could be a USB hub, device cable for a future smartphone or media device, storage expansion.

I really think this question could have been contained in your other thread though...

Also I want to mention I don't care for great quality speakers on laptop anymore rather use headphones for better battery life

Its for idiots who don't pay attention to keying a device correctly

You answered your own question in the title of your thread.

The problem with predicting the future is nobody can with certain accuracy. Next year, there may be a new device you want that uses USB C.

What you mean USB type c is meant for idiots who don't pay attention to "keying" a device?

Plugging it in correctly. They plug them in backwards thus damaging the port

USB c is the equivalent of apple's lightning cable, they idiot proofed the connection and beefed up the specs. Honestly there isn't really anything more you can ask for from an external general purpose connector. That said, I have 1 device that uses USB c, which is a thunderbolt 3 dock for my XPS, and while thunderbolt is a noticable bump from USB 10 gig, its not worth going out and buying a laptop over.

Same here on a DELL Precision docking station.. It is pretty impressive getting everything in/out of that one port, including 180w charging, video, USB devices, etc. etc.

That said, yea, it's not likely you'll get a peripheral that you absolutely have to have and it's only USB c I have yet to even see a device (other than the DELL docking station) that uses it only.

on a computer? none. Type-C just a connector, USB 3.0/3.1 are the standards which are hard to not come by on a computer. Just make sure you have the appropriate cables handy for the devices you use.

There isn't enough stuff that uses usb c to make it worth 700+$ for a port. I'm pretty sure my mobo has usb c and ive never used it.

I feel it's wise for me to keep my g551vw fy212t. It's a great laptop not perfect obviously. No need for usb type c :)
