issue with booting from usb to flash my card.

When I go into my bios, I chose boot system menu/ boot from usb drive right? than it automatically enters my usb sticks location? It says C:\> when I boot from my usb stick. I formated it with an hp "usb boot" format exe.. in windows right now it reads my usb stick as K:\ I couldnt change it to that in dos!?

but when I type atiflash.exe -f -p 0 r580_Volted.rom... like Im seposed to it dont work right like its seposed to.. says file not located :/ I put atiflash.exe and its chf.file on my usb drive along with my 1900gt's bios.

any1?

when I try and open the exe in dos I dont get what the exe says in windows dos, it just says r580_Volted.rom not found (its on my usb drive too).

heres what opens when I click on the atiflash (ms-dos program) shouldnt I see this when I boot up with my usb stick?

eatting than hopfully I can get a game in tonight and crash :)

USB sticks are a bit funky to get your PC to boot from, if there is an option along the lines of "boot other device" in your BIOS make sure thats set to enabled.

kk I'll try and get this sorted tomorrow.. atm I was trying to flash the card on my old comp.. its a Gateway computer (Gateway is a computer maker). I guess I'll try back on my new comp, but as soon as it turns on its full of artifacts worst than on my old comp:p.. meh I dont work tommorow hopefully I hace patience to mess around with it.

I've never had much luck booting from my USB stick. I usually go with my trusty Floppy (after I dust it off), and flash from there. Always works. Do you still have a floppy around?

Got it working thanks to Formula350.

"Rename it in windows to "new.rom" and the original to "old.rom". DOS can't do more than 7 characters. So yours would've been r580_Or~1.rom"

worked, glad this is fixed first thing when I woke up after my 13hour nap... time to eat and work.. ummm prob game 1st with my comp.. case Gallery I will see you soon. ;)
